Warm them up in the sun first to make them more flexible.

Very easy to install and fix tailgate rattle. I installed them on a 1998 Chevy S10 pickup. They fit over the top of a flat metal stand and slide all the way down.

I didn't even know I missed her.

I NEVER knew these existed for my S-10 truck - please see the other pictures posted showing exactly how to fit them now holds tight. The previous ones must have melted over the years as I saw some gummy slime and couldn't figure out why - that explains it. Buy them now!

Pros
  • Bumpers and Bumper Accessories
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Parts Perfect Stock

One day I found a sticky tar on the tailgate. I thought someone was pranking me or something. I had no idea where it came from. Then I noticed that the tailgate was very difficult to open and there was some kind of sticky substance on the other side as well. The original bumpers eventually melted from the heat. They are much stiffer and hopefully won't melt. Now the tailgate doesn't rattle anymore!

Where to Buy Bumpers and Bumper Accessories

The bumper pads on my '95 Sonoma melted years ago. Yes, it actually melted. A disgusting sticky mess that needs cleaning up. I've only put up with the rattling for the last 20 years. I found them at Revain and while they don't look like the round bumpers that originally came with the car I ordered a set. They seem to be of good quality, but how much trouble would it be for the seller to add a little diagram here showing how to install these things?

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Low Repairability
