We bought this gate to keep our dogs on one side of the house while we were at work and school (they didn't love it but we did). We had to buy another wall bumper that wouldn't ruin the wall, but that was a $6 purchase here on Amazon and an easy fix. Our 4 year old was able (after some learning) to open the gate to access the laundry room, garage and bathroom. It's really easy to use.

bought this when my husband was so ill so our dogs could see him without going into the bedroom while he was recovering and allowed us to open the door leaving it open so he could see outside without feeling so isolated or trapped. I deliberately chose it because it is very high so that our dogs cannot jump over it. easy to install and remove; easy to snap and unlock. Haven't tried the included extension but I don't think it would be difficult to add or remove it from the gate.

Update: A week to install and if you don't screw it to the walls this gate isn't strong enough. My 13 month old son can take it off if he tries. All he knows is you can't go where I put the gate not to try. But if you don't screw it into your wall, don't expect it to take a few pulls etc, it will keep coming off the wall. I have purchased this particular gate 3 times and the first 2 were higher than the last. I can't blame anyone but myself as it states several times that the height is 36 inches, which is accurate.
