Works great in ballasts

I needed to change the ballast in a 48 inch three tube fixture and it worked fine. It wasn't exactly the size of the old ballast, but it was easy to install and worked great. This device can work with three or four handsets.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Fit and function as expected

Fit and function as expected. It's not a sports car, so it can't be beat. It's the perfect replacement, there's no greater satisfaction the first time. Good job Robertson and Revane. Wait! a gift voucher would exceed all expectations :-)

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Expensive

Another comment from Tommy Carpenter.

Another comment from Tommy the Carpenter: I had 2 x 2 inch lights in my shop, the fluorescent tubes needed to be replaced every few years and the ballasts were buzzing, I had to turn up the radio, one ballast replaced with LED -Lamps and no light, what the heck. Swapping LED bulbs, flipping switches and wow, super bright light.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Costs money. A lot saved!

As long as three are connected. Saved a lot of money buying new mounts. The change was very easy and quick, nothing complicated. I'm glad I bought new tombstones to replace a couple of broken ones. They work great with instant power on. A disappointment, I went to Robertson Worldwide to find out who they were. The website states that this ballast was manufactured by the union in the United States. What I said was made in China. I made my purchasing decision based on this application from…

I switched to T8 and I'm happy about it

After a lamp in our basement gave up the ghost, I decided to switch from T12 to the newer T8 bulbs. I ordered this ballast and T8 socket holders (aka "tombstones"). I'm not a big DIYer but I've been able to change things up and the T8 works great. It's brighter now and I don't have to deal with the constant hum of the old ballast. People have commented that older ballasts last longer than these electronic ballasts, so I can't comment on long-term reliability yet. However, I am happy with the…

Will not work with Philips LED bulbs

Ordered these to replace old ballasts in some lights we had. I ordered Philips 472902 LED T8 lamps as a set. After replacing the wiring, put new bulbs. And they didn't shine. If you insert the bulbs while the device is on, they will light up. I wonder if it was that particular lamp, so we took some old Philips LED lamps that we were using. Same behavior. Changed the ballast if it was defective (we had 4 on hand). I ordered Advance ballasts (ICN-4P32-N) and the bulbs shone like a champ. So JMMV.
