Will not work on work pieces 3/8 " to 1/2 "

Sold as a setter for smaller work pieces (3/8" minimum). In fact, it fits 5/8" and 3/4" shanks and is useless for the Rockler 22627 bit it's advertised for.

Pros
  • Convenient item
Cons
  • Drill bit pack

Doesn't fit my cutter. Non refundable.

The angles on this guide are slightly different from my nozzle, so it's useless to me. When I tried to issue a refund it was marked as non-refundable. I'll just stick a nickel on it. Then I throw as much as I can. Whoever finds it is five cents better than me.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Working speed

Must have items for your router table.

The quickest and easiest way to set up your router table when using routers that require precise height alignment. A bargain for any carpenter and when you have the ones you use most you will never regret buying them. A simple tool that will save you time so you can focus on completing your projects with as little waste and effort as possible.

It seems to be of good quality, but it is also only put up.

I ordered a Freud 45 degree lock bit and Revain showed that the bit comes with it for easy installation. The profile is different. Appears to be of good quality, however only one side of the profile is installed, the end cut. I suggest taking some scrap wood, making notches for end and side cuts until they fit together properly, and saving them as adjusters.

Adjust, try manually

Probably best to work with a Rockler miter bit, not Yonico as recommended in the FAQ for this product. The grooves were not aligned for bit height adjustment and definitely do not work for residual depth alignment, which is not a feature of this jig. Had to use trim cuts to complete trail and error before I got it right. There are good manual setup guides online, recommended jigs in addition to this process to build your own jig.

  • Pretty impressive

  • Not sure

Not suitable for routers I bought

I bought this installer because all the videos I've seen on using 45 degree routers were difficult to set up. When I tried to use the adjustment tool, it didn't fit the cutter perfectly. The Revain site said the cutter and jig are often bought together, so I gave it a try. I usually make my own jigs to set up a router bit like you would use for a door panel or trim. And that's what I ended up doing for the 45 degree bit.

Pros
  • power tools and hand tools
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Will not fit Freud 99-034

This Rockler installer looks good but will not work with Freud #99-034. The profile is very different. I still give it 5 stars because the item is well made and comes with clear instructions. Rockler never claimed this contraption would work with a Freudian, so I knew it was a gamble when I bought it. The box says "Cutter Setting Tools 22627 45* Lock Miter Bits". Revain grouped these parts with the "often bought together" option, so I was hoping they could work together. Revain's amazing…

Pros
  • Router parts and accessories
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Saves time and frustration

I'm glad I bought this tool. As a woodworking newbie with aging eyes, I'm having a hard time finding the center of a 45° glue joint cutter, but this is for. And if your wood doesn't match the router bit height, you'll end up making lots of wasteful test cuts to get the perfect height on the router table. And while I still needed trial cuts when using this tool, there were far fewer of them. And once perfectly aligned I could mark the jig for the specific board thickness I was using. The next…
