Ideal for beginners

Has basic PDA functionality - touchscreen input, hot sync with PC, 1MB memory, planner, notes, Case lists, time, currency converter attached to keyboard. I got mine as a gift just before I was about to buy the popular brand and I'm so thankful I got it for free because now I know the popular brand is hyped. However, there are some problems. The device freezes from time to time. The screen is about an inch smaller than the popular brand. And the backlight is not as clear as mobile phones. In…

Pros
  • 1MB RAM for storing addresses, notes, tasks and appointments
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Very good PDA

This is a very good PDA. I actually bought it from Circuit City and not amazon.com, but it's still the same product. Anyway, this is a really good PDA. It has no internet connection and no software, so if you're looking for a PDA with this, look elsewhere. Otherwise it's a good product if you like to be organized. Pros
  • Convenient data entry with palm-sized folding keyboard
Cons
  • Power outlet required

Like the old machine, the DV1 is quirky, but as I'm more cost conscious (and have never used a more expensive PDA or owned a newer machine) I'm willing to accept the downsides. It's just an organizer, you can't add any software, but that's all I need. My DV1 never died a big death (although you can see others dying), but I can say it's cheaply made (poorly matched parts). I had some problems syncing with Outlook. I've learned that…

  • Data synchronization with included DV Link software or with Microsoft Outlook and Schedule+, Goldmine, Lotus Organizer and ACT!; Includes docking station with PC cable, three styluses and hinged lid
Cons
  • Off fashion
