$200 Fryer Quick, Inexpensive Repair

We have a $200 fryer that we love, but it just broke . When troubleshooting I found that this thermal fuse had failed, otherwise the unit was fine. So I replaced it for a few bucks and 20 minutes of my time. They are used in all small household appliances and are the ones that usually fail when the appliance exceeds the limit. Manufacturers use the lowest limit they can and a tiny spike and they fail and your product is withdrawn. This is easy to fix if you have a basic understanding of…

  • So far so good

Inexpensive repair for an expensive toaster

This tiny part failed on my Breville Compact Smart Over BOV650XL /B. It's not about taking it apart in the park, but this 5-pack was an exact replacement. The problem I had was that the oven had no power. No light, no sound. Nothing. After replacing this part, everything worked, no problem. I used thermal tape to secure the extras inside in case this happens again. But happy with the repair. A very cheap solution for an expensive toaster. If you have your hands and a soldering iron and a…

Pros
  • Excellent ambient temperature sensitivity, stable and accurate performance.
Cons
  • Some errors

Breville Toaster/Oven has stopped working

Our Breville Toaster has stopped working. It's been a few years and the warranty has expired. There is a video on YouTube showing how to replace this fuse. I followed him and the toaster/oven is still working a few years later. You need to buy 5 of these fuses and they are from China but they are exact replacements (same number) for the fuse. Disassembling a toaster/oven is not easy and I suggest watching a video before attempting this. He fixed my toaster/oven and saved the price of a new one.
