keeps the light very stable.

It was easy to install but it took some time to remove the "cap" from the helmet. I was afraid of using too much force to tear off a piece of the helmet. but apparently they used good glue to hold the piece together. Works well with my helmet light so far

2 stars because it fits the helmet well. If you are trying to use this with a light and motion light you will need to buy another part from GoPro. It is missing in the description and on the packaging. It also uses sticky foam so you get stuck on the mount the whole time.

Not as pictured, best in camera and photo

Not as shown. It comes with two parts. The base that attaches to the helmet and the clip as shown in the photo with light. The photo with the camera shows a non-existent mount. It uses the same large black base as the lamp. I contacted Smith and they blamed their website developers for the inconsistency but couldn't find a solution.

  • Everything is ok!

  • There are problems

Great mount, be careful not to lose it!

This is a solid mount and I loved it when I had it but it fell off my helmet on my first ride! I went back for a while and couldn't find it. I screwed it very tight before using it. I'd love to get another one, but I think I'd use some crazy tape to keep it from falling off again. Or a larger pad so it doesn't slip off the screw.

  • Not cheap but decent

Broken before use

After I installed it, the joint where the screw head holds the bracket fell apart under the screw. I build stuff for a living, I understand how much pressure there is on a part, when I screwed it in was something broken and now they don't sell it? I wonder why? I also can't return through Amazon as I bought it a long time ago. I have many other Smith products (skis and bikes) and have always been satisfied. This is not the case with this product, I didn't even try to break it while cycling…

  • Sequins

Not securely attached to helmet

When the device screws into the helmet it is a push fit connection not a hole. So you can only tighten it so much and when you try to install/remove the light from the mount it will pop out of the screw and detach from your helmet. I don't understand why they styled the attachment like that. Why not just drill a hole in it so you can screw it in and go with confidence. I just have a feeling it will eventually fall. Not the best design. If they sold it for less than $10, which is what a piece of
