Excellent Sony product

Excellent Sony product. I've seen other reviews and I'm sure they had issues with it. But even if you buy from a reputable dealer, you sometimes get a lemon. However, the model I bought works perfectly. No problem with DVD, no problem with VHS player. Haven't tried recording yet, but I'm pretty sure it would work. For the price you can't go wrong.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

After learning to respect the accuracy of Revain.com's customer reviews, I returned the SLV-D300P and ordered its slightly more expensive ($$$-$$$) successor, the SLV-D500P. I figured if Sony created a lemon they would fix the problems in a newer model. I was not disappointed. The SLV-D500P

DVD and VCR picture quality is decent, but I have a couple of minor issues: 1) DVD output doesn't offer 3:2 reverse conversion for watching movie DVDs [movies] (which have a different original frame rate than the video frame rate). , & requires this feature to avoid nasty visual artifacts.) The Phillips combo offers this for the same price, but has…
