Perfect for my 2000 Cherokee XJ

Perfect for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. This is a great cheap replacement. The cover is a one-piece piece, unlike the stock cover which was difficult to remove even when the engine was only slightly warm. Eventually my drain cap broke and just twisted in place. This replacement will not.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Not the best

Fits but difficult to remove

Buy this for my jeep grand cherokee, fits as expected but very difficult to remove from engine even for a strong person like me, this filter cap is small , the top has less grip compared to the original and for this reason it is difficult to unscrew and no I never use force to tighten the cap, tried a few times the result is the same, I will update my review later.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • cable is shorter than others

Good replacement for problematic aftermarket Dodge Ram oil cap

Purchased to replace a 98 Dodge Ram oil cap. For some reason the covers on these trucks tend to self-destruct. This stant cap is made from a tough material so it should last the life of the car. The downside is that since this lid is made of a hard material, it doesn't click when tightened enough, but I can live with that.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Almost OK

Works great - Parts

For some reason the strings on the stock cap on my '95 Dodge Neon started slipping like they had been ripped off, but they looked fine. I think that in 20 years the plastic has actually shrunk (plastic can be dimensionally unstable). One day the cap actually popped out of the filler hole, convincing me I needed a new one. This one is very tight, obviously, accurate. It doesn't have a ratchet to prevent over-tightening, but that's a good thing too.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Protection

A good replacement for the factory ratchet cap

The factory ratchet style oil cap in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ (with 4.0 I6) decided it wouldn't come loose and would remain just a ratchet for the rest of its life so I bought this stant style cap. recommendations online. The head of this cap is a bit stronger than the factory one, so I can loosen it more easily. Of course, you don't want the Hulk to fully tighten that cap after adding oil, but you can usually get a good feel for it if it's tight enough.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

Really cheap but that's all you really need

My old oil cap ratchet has given up the ghost, I drive a '98 Jeep Cherokee XJ. For some reason I could only remove the old cover when the engine was cold. My habit is to check the oil every time I fill up to keep the engine warm, but when it's low I practically had to wait until the next day. This solved my problem. You can tell it's made out of pretty cheap plastic, but you really need something else. Exactly what I was looking for for under $2. Looking at other sources, something nicer would…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
