Works pretty well: tools and gear

Haven't used it much but it's a good tool. works very well after using a spot weld drill for small marks that seem to elude the drill but you don't realize they are still hanging until you try to separate the parts. is also good for cutting through spot welds that you cannot previously drill through with a drill. It takes a bit of hammering, but the tool seems to take a beating with ease.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • High price

Suture Removal Chisel: Tools and Equipment

Wow, I bought this without knowing what to expect. This is of great importance when separating metal. I'm on my first '67 Mustang restoration project so maybe I was lacking in knowledge overall, but this tool made it a lot easier than other methods I've tried. I've hammered it hard and it hasn't bent yet. Just be careful as it's sharp and you can score good metal with it if you're not careful. (I speak from experience)

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Hard to say

Most Used Body Tool Ever

My used straight tool has been slammed to the stars and back, I mean WIN and it's still perfect! I'll sharpen it if I ever need to, but I'm not sure I ever will. I did about 100 spot welds with a used straight line and this is its condition. It went on sale and I couldn't help but buy a second one. I also bought a 90 degree which will come in very handy when getting the back end and wheel baths for my current project. Steck simply makes top-notch bodywork tools, period.

Best Panel Removal Tool

This tool is invaluable for removing spot welded body panels. Not being a professional, I never manage to cut all the spot welds and this tool is perfect for the job. It's durable and the steel holds an edge pretty well. I had to tweak the tip a bit because I've used it so much. I saw a video of a guy actually cutting off a body panel with it. I wouldn't recommend this approach, but it really speaks to the durability of the tools. I recommend this tool to anyone who needs to work with the body.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Crumpled Pack

Durable, good for tools and gear

Does what it says on the tin. This is a piece of hardened, sharpened steel. The first thing I thought of when I took it out of the box was "looks like a murder weapon". I had to cut rotten bottoms out of my El Camino (this was my first time) and that plus a couple of spot welders didn't make it easy, but I managed. I don't know what I will use this for in the future as I will never do body work again but it has already paid off. It looks like it will last a lot longer than I've used it.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some bugs

My Go To Tool - Tools and Equipment

The Rules of Simplicity. I have expensive spot weld broaches, three edge carbide cutters, spot weld cutters and this tool is my favorite tool. It works amazingly well, better than I ever expected. If I had only one tool to work with, this would be it. Hammer, hammer along the seam and it really won't harm the steel. Or use your cutting tools to remove the weld, but it's always difficult to get the entire weld. This tool is the best way to find and finish welds after you've drilled them. Greatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • It's Amazing
Cons
  • Protection

Very good quality for this money!

I was hesitant to buy this Seam Buster, now that I've had it for a few months I just wonder why I went without it for so long. The reason I hesitated is the price, you usually get what you pay for but not with this one. It's harder here than I thought. I resharpened it maybe 2 times and even then it didn't take more than a few seconds. I've seen some reviews about the grip slipping, I haven't had any issues yet. Even if this steering wheel didn't have a clutch at all, it would still be worthโ€ฆ
