Decent scanner for scanner

I scanned a lot of printed photos for a website I work on and used a smaller one that only did 4 x 6 photos and did a reliable job. I can scan photos in the evening while watching TV. Pros: Portable, fast, decent image quality. Cons: Battery life is a bit short and I've had occasional luck trying to connect to the USB power cable. Also, a micro SD card is a small extra step to installing a reader adapter into a computer - my laptop only has 2 USB 3 ports, so using the SD card slot is usually…

Good build and features but does not work

This scanner looks good and its LCD is absent from similar scanners. It comes with batteries but no internal storage or micro SD card. So factor that into your overall price. Why two stars - well because the one I got didn't work. There are two problems. First, the photos are not scanned properly. I scanned them first without using the adjustable slider as a guide. The photographs passed the scanner at an angle. When I used the guide to feed them straight, they mostly backed up or stopped. The…

This scanner is great. Note that this requires a microSD.

Great scanner. Note that this requires a microSD card. Does not scan directly to a computer but to an SD card. When you plug the USB stick into your computer, it will show up as a microSD card reader, allowing you to scan to the card and then copy from the card to your computer. It's easier for me to just take the card out and plug it into my computer instead of using a cable as I have an SD slot and it works the same way if you use a USB cable. Comes with a silk sleeve/storage bag. I keep it…

Received defective device, ordered another working one

My device does not work as described in the instructions. Documents do not automatically feed into the scanner as specified and do not stop when I try to feed them manually. I will return it to Revane. I tried to contact the manufacturer but the person who answered the phone couldn't help me. I missed her call back and she didn't leave me a message. I will try another device and come back to this review if the device works properly. Update: I returned the original item and ordered a different…

Excellent scanner, the best among scanners

The only downside of this scanner is that it doesn't work with wired Linux, but I have to admit that this one of which is the reasons why i bought it. This scanner is amazing. It scans documents to a memory card (Micro SD) and saves them as a .jpg image. I was able to remove the card from the scanner and use the micro SD adapter to plug it into my computer and then use a program called gscan on Linux to create PDF files from the images. So the problem is solved. Removing and reinserting the…

Scan, scan, scan with SVP PS4200

When I was looking for a scanner for computer processing of all my documents, I checked many different scanners and read many reviews. Although the SVP had mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try, so I bought the scanner not knowing that an SD memory card was required for each scan. Then I bought an SD card. After receiving the SD card, I started scanning it and went into town. I scanned over 200 documents with the first set of batteries which I thought was fantastic. The files can be easily…
