Suitable for home use and science education

I bought this microscope to teach basic science at home so I didn't need anything too powerful. For the price it was a great option for my family.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

My wife loves it in compound binocular microscopes

We only use this product for fun and for examining water, blood and other types of slides. Great microscope for the money. Maybe a little more professional than we need, but heck, you only live once.

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Clarity

Great for detecting bacteria

Make specialty yogurt. We need to check if we have the right strain of bacteria. I've also made mayonnaise and had to check the water/oil ratio and droplet size. Eyepiece. Looks pretty hard to erase.

Pros
  • Good cause
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Works great and great customer service!

I was happy when this microscope arrived. But unfortunately the light didn't come on when I opened it and connected it to the network. So disappointed. Update: the company contacted me and kindly sent me a new one, the light works fine, cheers! Now that I've tried it, I can say that it's a good quality microscope, easy to use, with clear and wide lenses that are easy to focus. I love it so much and can't wait to see and explore more things. Attached are some photos taken with a microscope.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Very good volume at this price

At just over $200 this is a real gem. Solidly built with lots of bells and whistles like brightness adjustment, 360 degree rotating head, 2 sets of eyepieces (10x/25x), parfocal lenses (mostly), etc. It even comes with a pair of polarizing discs that can be placed over the eyepieces to mount the polarizing microscope to build a poor man. My only concern is that the aperture setting is a bit dim for light and has a limited range. I haven't tried an oil immersion lens yet. I'll just add that it's

Good microscope for the money

This is nothing compared to my $5000 dual Olympus microscope that I use in my work as a pathologist and I didn't expect it to be like this. For the money this is a pretty decent microscope. The lens and eyepiece lenses are of sufficient quality that what is seen through the scope has decent resolution with a 40x lens. I haven't tried oil immersion yet. The condenser isn't bad, with almost no edge artifacts or tissue refraction artifacts. The light through the condenser is slightly off center…

UPDATED Review - Look twice, send once

Updating my initial review: I am writing to change my rating from 1 star to 4 stars because I actually found the slides on the same day. When unpacking the microscope, I did not notice the slide boxes that were glued to the outside of the protective cover. So when I opened the third box they actually fell off and I didn't realize it until later. This too was my fault. Everything is fine with my order. I am now officially happy with my purchase; and the recipient of the gift too :) I appreciate…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Base required

GREAT VOLUME FOR THE MONEY AND THEN SOMETHING

I bought a used Revain scope, arrived without a power cord. I was able to find one in my computer accessories, no apologies for no power cord and nothing when emailing Revain and Swift. The sight itself is decent, . not a heavy unit like others on the market making it portable. Images are bright and sharp using a wet glycol slide frame, the aperture lets in more than enough light, and the aperture is decent and gets the job done. mechanical, . Head turning is a little rough at times, nothing…

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good
