Great bang for the buck!

Like any general purpose lens, this one does very well but not perfect. But hey, if I wanted perfection, I'd buy multiple individual lenses with quality glass and pay a fortune. This lens is on my camera 95% of the time. He's so versatile. It's lightweight, not bulky, and ideal for everyday photography. It would be nice if it had vibration cancellation, but it costs a few hundred dollars more to upgrade to the Tamron 18-270. At one point I actually bought the 18-270, tried it for a week and…

The Tamron 18-200mm lens is fantastic!

I ordered a used item from Photogear_Etc for 120 (including shipping). I am satisfied with the performance of this lens. A similar lens from Sony (or the equivalent camera manufacturer) costs many times more. I compared this lens to the standard lens (18-55mm) that Sony sent to my camera. I tried both lenses at 18 and 55 positions, with autofocus and manual focus, with flash and with flash. Visual comparison of the photos looked similar to my eyes, even after enlarging the images on my computer

Nice upgrade of the kit lens

Like most people, it only took me about 2 days after buying my first DSLR to realize that the kit lens wasn't long enough. This lens went from 18-55 to 18-200 for me. It's more like our old compact Megazoom that we're used to. We took both lenses with us for the first few days and changed them frequently to compare the quality. Many photos were taken twice, once for each lens. We could not determine any differences in quality. If you're happy with the shots you get with your kit lens, you'll be

You can't go without it

I had this lens for my Canon Digital Rebel and after reading how good Canon lenses are I decided to put it on the Canon EF-S 55-" to upgrade". 250mm f/4-5.6 telephoto zoom lens with IS Image Stabilizer. What mistake. Not an upgrade at all. From sharp shots in all situations (sports, portraits, concerts, landscapes, everyday snaps) with Tamron to muddy, blurry shots never before captured with a Canon lens. (I gave my Tamron lens away when I bought Canon and couldn't rectify my mistake until I…

Good for $149.00 at "EWAVE "

So far this is exactly what I expected. The quality is comparable to Nikon kit lenses. Provides a lightweight and compact way to carry your travel essentials. The only thing that bothered me is some purple fringing at higher magnifications and larger apertures. It's usually only noticeable when you're actually looking for it. I started using f8 and iso from 400 to 1600 on everything and got the same quality as any of my wandering lenses. I bought mine in the 'USED' tab of 'ewave7' also labeled…

  • Sturdy construction

  • No gun

Absolutely incredible lens!

This is an amazing lens! I recently bought a Nikon D3300 and was desperate for this camera as the kit lens was very poor. I owned at least two different Nikon 35mm film SLRs and several Nikon lenses in the 70's and the quality was always top notch. I just received this lens today and it is everything I could ever want and more. Unlike the included 18-55mm lens, this lens is very sharp. Focuses very quickly. I've seen other digital camera autofocus lenses that claim to have manual focus, but…
