Free Motion Spring Foot gives clear visibility when doing free motion quilting or embroidery. Because of the open front, you can easily do stippling or follow a design in the fabric. The spring action keeps the fabric from lifting with the needle as the stitch is being formed which helps eliminate thread breakage with specialty or heavier threads. Free Motion Metal Foot. offers excellent visibility and control. Perform stippling, meandering, and thread painting techniques....

It broke on first use

This foot was very easy to install and worked great for the first few minutes. Then, as it should, it stopped bouncing around to easily move the fabrics through the machine. At first I thought the spring had burst, but it turned out that it stopped working because the metal pin at the top broke in two. I am coming back for a refund and have just ordered the Janome brand for my sewing machine.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Out of style

Fits my Pffaf Performance 5.0

Failed to load media. This sewing foot fits my Pffaf Performance 5.0 sewing machine. The presser foot is centered on my needle so is accurate to a quarter of an inch when quilting. The base of the foot is designed to bounce up and down as you quilt, which I wasn't expecting. This feature can be good as it keeps the fabric in place. However, I find it very distracting when trying to quilt, especially when the design is based on using the edge of the foot as a guide.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

My Project Saved

I was knitting fairly thick squares for a sofa throw and when it came time to sew them the standard presser foot pinched and the yarn would not move freely and sag. I tried removing the presser foot and the stitching was weird, out of control and very difficult to work with. I wasn't sure what to do, I needed something in between. That was excellent! The thread didn't pinch, but the small circle held it in place while I sewed. I finished my quilt and it looks great.

Pros
  • Inspires Confidence
Cons
  • Out of Style

Perfect darning foot

This works great with my Singer Heavy Duty 4432. I just have to remove the foot then the shaft and attach it like any other darning foot. I've played with it on several copies and have absolutely no complaints. As long as it's the style you're looking for (closed eye, not c-foot) this should work just fine. All darning feet are basically attached in the same way. So if you are using them for the first time, just look them up online. and you can find many tutorial videos. It feels durable and Iโ€ฆ

  • so far so good
