Great for kids, great for security and surveillance

I live with a roommate and his 2 year old daughter. She learns to unlock and open doors. This is invaluable for understanding when she's entering a room she shouldn't be in or when she wants to go outside. This sound scares her, so now she won't open the door until we tell her everything is ok. Hopefully this will also deter any intruders. Great feel-good product!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Worth the Money: Horns & Sirens

Received this nifty, easy to install device today. I wish I had come across this thing many years ago. My mother has Alzheimer's and is a drifter. I lock our screen doors, but sometimes she fiddles with the lock. I couldn't leave her alone in any room beyond my earshot. Well I set off one of those front door alarms tonight and baka-bing-bad-boom! That alarm screeched so loud I bet the whole neighborhood heard it. My mother never came to that door that day.

  • good stuff

Just what I needed in security and surveillance

I bought these alarms for my windows because I just needed a security alert if someone tried to open my windows from the ground. They are definitely loud enough! Very easy to glue but I had a problem. You must perfectly line up the arrow on the alarm clock with the arrow on the magnet. It didn't work out the first time, even though everything was perfect. and I have already glued the alarm clock and the magnet. So I had to pull the magnet out. (I started with the alarm off). Tip: Stick part of…

Easy to install and still works

Bought so my mum with Alzheimer's wouldn't leave the house unnoticed. Even with everyone working from home, she's learned to silently slip out our front door. This alarm is loud enough to let us know she opened the door and startle her into not being able to leave. I only found one problem with it - the alarm stops when you close the door. No problem so far - she opens the door, flinches at the alarm, closes the door, tries again, the alarm sounds, she closes the door again. Until she realized…

My special needs daughter is safe with a door alarm!

I have a special needs daughter who does not understand security. Nor is she afraid. We had to be very vigilant and keep an eye on the front and back doors of the house because she was always trying to sneak out without permission. These door alarms allow you to put up another "barricade" (security measure) to keep them safe inside. She can't get to where we set the alarm, so she can't turn it off without our knowledge. She also HATES the sound the alarm clock makes, which also keeps her from…

Worth it, but be careful with hot windows

I bought two packs for our house and stuck them on every door and window. They are easy to install and very, very loud. The only problem we had was that one of them had "melted". The bedroom window was exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day and eventually the bond between the mechanism and the sticker failed. The sticker/mount did NOT fall off or move, but the actual part of the alarm moved away just far enough to go off. just let me tell you When it happened it was 2am and HOLY. SHIT…

VERY VERY LOUD on security and surveillance

Great quality even if it wasn't 2 packs (which is). Well done. Contains 2 replaceable batteries. Easy on/off. Installed a week ago with the strips provided and is holding tight. We only bought it to pass the municipal inspection for our swimming pool. It's incredibly noisy which is great for a home with young children. So if you are, do it. If you only have to pass one inspection - take it too. If you're thinking of using them as a general safeguard, do so with your eyes wide open. In the…

Loud and Clear best in Horns & Sirens

Bought this to mount on a window in my garage. I am very impressed with how easy it was to install. It's small but sure to hear someone trying to open the window. I decided to paste it at the far right of the top part of the window. If you look closely, the window frame and glass are not flush. I wasn't sure if it would still work unless it was perfectly aligned, but to my surprise, it did! If you don't know where to place the device I recommend just using some tape to see if it works before…
