The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

The access point is optimal if you have some other device at the input - a router, a firewall without wifi, since this point is with one LAN

    Pros
    • Ease of administration, everything is intuitive. For the home, more than a worthy device, functional, stable and reliable. There are no complaints about wi-fi.
    Cons
    • For me they are not

I'm impressed! Exactly the product deserves your attention.

For comrades whose pings hang and grow and the network completely falls down, this is dedicated! Well, firstly: so that pings do not grow, the network (in which your access points are located) is not hung up. Isolate wireless clients - this is the second time: be sure to include access points in a managed switch and isolate ports! Why this is needed, I briefly tell why and what happens, when a client connects to one access point, its mas address is automatically registered there, then suddenly…

    Pros
    • Simple and reliable!
    Cons
    • more settings and log information

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

We ordered a couple of these APs. The kit included the device itself, a patch cord, a power adapter, a PoE adapter and some promotional waste paper)) Conducted a number of tests. 1) In Universal-Repeater mode (8022022bg mixed): Laptop[wi-fi]-[wi-fi]AP[wi-fi]-[wi-fi]D-link DIR-300(rev A)[wan]-network. - 10-13 Mbps With WPA2 encryption, the results are the same. 2) In Universal-Repeater mode (8022022bg mixed): Laptop[wi-fi]-[wi-fi]AP[wi-fi]-[wi-fi]D-link DIR-300NRU(rev B)[wan]-network.…

    Pros
    • Excellent price-quality ratio, PoE support, on/off button, universal-repeater operation.
    Cons
    • Looks cheap - made of hard cheap plastic. Serious deficiencies have not yet been identified.

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor product, the quality is below average.

Bought as a signal expander. But it is hardly possible to use it for its intended purpose, because. no dancing with a tambourine in the settings and flashing (including third-party ones) failed to fix the periodic freezes. Third-party firmware reduced the problem by quickly rebooting (apparently) and reducing the number of freezes, but the connection still breaks 1-2 times per hour. For games, downloads and audio-video communications, this is not acceptable. Wasted money, time and nerves

    Pros
    • pros outweigh cons
    Cons
    • - intermittently freezes and breaks connections

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

Got pros: Great model! Compared to the price, it's just great. I use it in repeater mode, it clearly copes with the task. The most important thing is to keep wi-fi stable. Cons: Basically, I did not notice, but it is desirable to have additional "LAN" ports for connecting to other computers.

Not a bad product, but you can find better.

Take it only to a private house (it will cover 2-3 floors of a block house) if there are more than 1 of them, change each individual IP from the standard one, otherwise pings grow strongly after a while) In the N mode, only it works stably and quickly in others worse. If the devices are new and they do not work much, it will be very good, but if these are Chinese tablets and old phones, then how lucky. They took it because of the urgency (so of course they would have taken UniFi, but they had…

    Pros
    • Relatively inexpensive, good coverage area (when replacing standard antennas with 8 dB antennas), simple setup, PoE - sometimes it helps a lot when there is no way to pull power. When there are few devices (1-5), there is no wi-fi interference and power surges in the network, it works perfectly at high speed without glitches for weeks. If you turn on the N mode only, then the stability and speed of work increases significantly, especially in pings.
    Cons
    • Hang steadily! Up time is a maximum of a week. Almost in all modes of operation. They don’t like crooked Chinese tablets and old laptops, switching to mode b, from which pings begin to grow fiercely, if there are such devices on the network, iPads and iPhones with old firmware and some android devices cannot normally connect. When N and g devices work simultaneously and some of them at the border of the reception zone, pings grow very strongly for everyone, even for those who stand directly under the point (it might help to have the gn mode, but there is only bgn in the tp link or everything separately) If devices with the wrong password try to connect to the point and do it for a long time, pings grow at the point after a while in this mode, if several active clients are connected, the point hangs the configured Watch Dog helps every other time. When there are a lot of points nearby, even on other channels (1,6,11 as it should be), the pings grow, stability is lost (on the Linuxus, in the same conditions, everything is perfect with a lower (!) signal level than from a TP link)) Hangs from power surges more often than d-link 1360 (and it is a very unstable piece of iron that works as it wants) Watch Dog (auto-reboot when hanging) is apparently not implemented in hardware, it rarely helps to ping a remote server. the Wi-Fi module mostly hangs, but we do not have stationary wi-fi clients. Sometimes it hangs so that the point is no longer pinged over the LAN, but Watch Dog does not work. If there are a lot of them, you will often have to run to pull from the outlet. 12 volt PoE is good only at short distances of 1-15 m of high-quality copper cable, wafer power and stability of operation drop by 5 m of steel. fixed for 2 months of work 2 deaf hangs that were not helped by a power reset, but a reset and reconfiguration helped In repeater mode, it is buggy (ping growth, does not connect some devices) if there are more than 1 clients.

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I use it as a normal access point (even DHCP is turned off). Works around the clock. I download torrents through it at speeds up to 50 Mbps (about 6 Mbps), this speed is easy to keep, but I didn’t check it anymore, because. the tariff plan limits the speed to 50 Mbps. It doesn't get very hot under this load. Hang-ups for several days are not noticed. The signal level is set low, but even so, it catches normally throughout the apartment. Comes with a PoE injector. Those. the power supply can…

    Pros
    • Inexpensive fast access point. PoE injector included.
    Cons
    • Haven't found it yet.

Briefly - 100 megabits over the air can and can work as an access point, repeater, bridge point and wifi network receiver. Three antennas are not for beauty, but for business - 450 megabits are really there. Paired with TP-Link TL-WR941N router as a desktop Internet repeater and receiver, and works stably. Poor wifi speed is treated by changing the channel, the problem of losing connection in repeater mode is treated either with the help of ping watchdog (there is such a function in the…

    Pros
    • Transmission speed, range, several modes of operation, the ability to replace the firmware with an alternative from third-party developers
    Cons
    • Lack of router mode; the price is higher than that of a router of a similar class, the lack of information in the web interface, firmware glitches

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

Used as an access point in a home-type mini-hotel, for distributing free Wi-Fi. It works with laptops with a bang, but not everywhere with smartphones and tablets. The device is installed on the first floor of the building. Tablets and smartphones on the first and second floors catch without problems, but on the third there is practically no connection, or very weak. I think that this is due to the low power of portable equipment transmitters, because everyone "sees" the access point - when…

    Pros
    • Good communication quality, not heated, easy to use.
    Cons
    • It does not connect well with portable equipment: tablets and smartphones.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

If it weren't for freezing, it would be an excellent access point. If you want to power it via PoE - the more there is an injector in the box (it seems to be 30 meters) . You can hang it anywhere, and stretch only a twisted pair there. In my case, it turned out to be very helpful. I hung it in the workshop under the ceiling - where the sockets are 220 and cannot be close. Setup for all options is described in the instructions. You can configure it as an access point, as a bridge and as a…

    Pros
    • There is PoE, and a PoE injector comes immediately in the kit (an injector is a device for transmitting power over a LAN cable, literally, PoE = Power over Ethernet). The web interface of the device is in 2022, and there is a 2022 help on every page. True, not everything will be clear to mere meters even with this 2022 help.
    Cons
    • Hangs steadily. About a couple of times a month. You have to turn it off and on. Those. should not be put in positions of responsibility.

    Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not a bad product, but I expected a little more.

I took a point only for the sake of a repeater. I am pretty good with technology. Set up quickly for the first time. I got the signal and started to repeat. Then it was necessary to reset the parameters to the factory settings and the repeater did not really start, it showed a weak reception signal. Then, when I managed to do everything and catch a strong enough signal, I connected, but the connection was not stable. Tormented and passed back to the store. I bought Mikrotik and Ubiquity…

    Pros
    • -Simple appearance -3 antennas - strong enough transmitter -many operating modes
    Cons
    • - Disgusting work of the repeater. Not tested in other modes.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

There is this device in the office of devices 10-15 are constantly connected to it, it works 24/7. Absolutely no breakdowns and loss of speed, everything works stably, for the entire time of work, and this has never had to be rebooted for more than 6 months. At first, the programmers had some problems with setting up the access point, but they did it, after that everything works fine. Due to the shortcomings, this is such a problem at home, everything is ok in the office! Firmware are the…

    Pros
    • + practically does not cut speed (connection speed 30, outputs 26-28 to the device)
    Cons
    • - once a week the speed drops, you have to reboot

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

The purchase was not worth it at all.

Even at home, it infuriates him to constantly reboot (although he is at hand). Like any repeater, the speed is cut by ~ 2 times (an inevitable flaw in the technology). If I had known in advance, I would have thought about buying 100 times . Although the transmitter is really powerful, in a large apartment it hits very well through 4 brick walls. Its pros: Inexpensive, nice design, powerful transmitter + antennas Cons below: It keeps crashing and has to be rebooted. Depending on the load and

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm very happy with the product, it's very satisfying.

I needed this device for a working office solely for one purpose - a Wi-Fi signal repeater. The Internet has to be taken from a neighboring building (distance about 50 m) through an external Wi-Fi antenna. Before that, Asus RT-N12 was used as a signal repeater, but there were always problems with it - the connection periodically fell off or the signal disappeared. Asus establishes a dial-up connection with the main access point and emits a signal. In contrast, the WA901ND does not establish a…

    Pros
    • - Wi-Fi implemented at 5+ (Stable signal 4-5 sticks, on the graph of the Internet connection speed test, the drops are minimal) - Powerful standard antennas - Possibility to install external antennas - The presence of a POE adapter so that power can be run over twisted pair
    Cons
    • - One Ethernet port. It was necessary to throw a hub to him. - The instructions that come with the kit are completely meager, no good.

The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

Gorgeous model! I bought a wi-fi receiver for each hospital and installed an access point instead of a wired network for college employees. It hits 3 floors, on the third, however, it’s frail - about 600kb / s from a three-megabit network is left) It’s a little gemorno to go in for the first time - you have to enter all sorts of keys from the device, but after setting it hangs, it’s been uptime for the second month! Powered by Ethernet, how convenient! There is no binding to a specific place…

Speedy Wi-Fi Boost for Better Connections!

This wireless repeater is a must-have for anyone who wants to increase their internet speeds. After I put it to the test, I noticed a significant improvement in the signal strength and the overall speed of my home network. I can now use multiple devices without any lag or delays. The installation was easy and quick too!

    Pros
    • Improved signal strength and internet speeds.
    Cons
    • Limited range coverage.

    Amazing TP-Link support

I'm having trouble setting up the WA-901. I contacted TP-Link technical support and they referred me to a senior technical engineer who had a remote session with me and everything worked perfectly and quickly. The support engineer (Kathy) was amazing and did things I never thought possible. I am very satisfied and can recommend TP-Link to everyone.

    Pros
    • Electronics
    Cons
    • I vaguely remember

One of the few bridge/client devices

I use these when the device needs an ethernet connection but cabling is a hassle. We used to call them bridges, but it seems like lately my Silicon Valley colleagues decided to call this feature "client" since they started using the term "bridge" to mean connecting two networks . Well, times are changing. You will do both. I would not use them as an access point. There are a million better options out there. But for connecting and working with clients, they are one of the best (or only) options

    Pros
    • Wireless Access Points
    Cons
    • Definitely bad product
