Great Networking Rack

It arrived in a slightly tattered box so FedEx held it up an extra day to see if it was damaged. I assembled it in 5 minutes. I added and fixed some shelves. We've hooked up about 125 pounds of network equipment to it and it's very durable. The kit included many mounting screws. silver and black.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Cute little rack - computers and accessories

(this review is based on the 13U size) I bought this rack and 1U shelf to organize my home network equipment. It's almost perfect for the job. My only (minor) gripe is that it's about an inch taller than under the table where I intended to put it, but that's an easy workaround. I was a bit surprised that there are both 12-24 and 10-30 screws in the box. The rack is of course threaded for 12-24, so I see no reason to fit 10-30.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

High quality 2 post rack

This rack is very good quality. It was well packaged with foam pads and each piece was wrapped in bubble wrap to prevent scratches. Mine arrived without a trace, although the box looked a little worse on the way. All hardware is included, including screws for mounting the rack itself, as well as a fairly large set of black and silver 12/24 screws and a selection of washers. Another nice touch is that all U's are clearly numbered and marked (front and back) so mounting the units straight and…

Sleek little 19 " rack. Does its job!

Sturdy frame. I had some hardware I wanted on 19" deep 10" shelves so I added legs on the back to get a less extreme angle. The stall is even raised 1" at the back, which is great. The only downside is the extreme angle, which is useful for stabilizing a rack of rack equipment. This angle is easily corrected by replacing the more standard rubber/plastic feet on the back with taller ones.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Some bugs

Best in shelves and cupboards for missing parts

Don't forget to check the box when the item is delivered. We bought it back in May and only today in July do we start assembling it but we only received 2 rails and one of the base blocks. We're missing a base unit and two tops. If there were supposed to be instructions in the box, there wasn't. We don't need them, just a list of what was missing.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Available in white only

Works perfectly. Don't overload it.

Thing works great. Easy to assemble and includes all the rackmount hardware to boot your devices. When using on a desktop, I recommend not overloading it. It can be a bit unreliable to reposition or move with bulkier/heavier equipment. It is ideal for smaller form factor switches and routers and low profile switches with two lugs.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Can't remember

Non-standard threaded holes

I would give this rack 5 stars, but when I tried to mount the equipment in the rack, I found that the threaded holes were a non-standard size. None of my stand screws fit in the holes. They were all too skinny. Only the screws that came with the stand fit in the holes. These threads must be universal to fit any standard rack screw. Apparently, Tripp Lite didn't get the standardization notice.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
