Perfect for 06 Legacy GT 5MT

Good for my Legacy 06 which had one of its last tanks explode after 9 years. Since my car is a manual transmission, I did not use the lower ATF coolant ports. I left the plastic end caps on when they were taken out of the box. No problems so far, after 4 months in hot southern weather.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Nothing

Perfect fit for my 2005 Outback Turbo with 5 speed automatic transmission. Completely identical to the OEM except the ATF ports are slightly (1/2 inch) longer. Anyway, it was an easy fit. Nothing else is included, so be prepared to reuse your radiator cap, hoses, bolts, etc.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Only available in white

Comes with an open fitting/nipple on the upper tank (passenger side) which must be found to close (as on the 2006 Outback - this fitting can be used for other applications). I had to go to an auto parts store and get a 2" hose with a 0.5" ID and put a two yoke cap screw on the end to cover the nipple. The rest looks fine and works. Do not try to reuse original hose clamps if you are also changing hoses - this is not without a great deal of effort.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

This radiator was advertised as a direct replacement for my 2006 Subaru Outback and appears to be, with some modifications. This radiator has an additional outlet at the top of the radiator on the passenger side which appears to be used on turbocharged models but not on non-turbocharged models. This should be limited to non-turbo models. This would be acceptable to me, except for two things: 1) the heatsink doesn't come with any instructions to explain this or let you know that this might be a…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Useless features
