Does not work as advertised

Don't waste your money buying this to clean treads on large bolts. My mechanic was very disappointed. We really wanted it to work!

Very well done! for Thread Repair Kits

Ordered this kit plus additional bits for metric threads. Used on my Tundra axis. Worked great! Use this before reinstalling bearings as you will need space to do this. Not a small tool!"

It takes a little practice.

Saved the threads on my 70 year old tractor axles that have 2 keyways! You just keep working it clockwise, then counterclockwise into the keyways, stop and start again... I used the shank of a small tapered file to push it through the keyways until the threads are clean. The tool only works in one direction, and rocking the handle back and forth helps negotiate bumps. I removed the die and cleaned the internal threads on the nuts. Now smooth as butter.
