Bought for my granddaughter to paint diamonds. I have one with four brightness options (off, dark, medium, light). At first I thought that this new one is just off and bright. Just note that holding down the power button selects from several brightness options, but you'll have to hold the button down until you get to where you want it. The pillow is light. So useful! I tried using a lamp but just couldn't get the light where I needed it. I can see everything with it and it's easy to use. You just plug it in. You can see the difference in lighting in my photo when I use it! Very helpful for me! I have a picture half in light, half to not show the difference. So I really like it! I used a table lamp when painting with diamonds, especially at night. Some numbers, especially 6 and 8, are hard to see on my canvas. Sometimes bright lights emanated from the screen. I've been using it for about 2 months and I love it, but there's one important thing. Fork. I see it breaking. If you pull it up, down, or to the side, or even sneeze while inserting or removing it, it can break. I haven't bothered with the light part yet.
