Big! The print server works with MacOSX Tiger and WinXP!

Although the instructions say the print server doesn't work with Macs. Guess what? It does. I have an old iBook with Tiger and a Dell laptop with XP, my printer is a cheap HP LaserJet 1200. The wizard took care of installing XP but I had to do a bit more for OSX as follows: 1. New Set up network printers with LPD/LPR protocol (default for this server). This allows the print server to work with Tiger!2. Specify the IP number of the router as the default IP address of the print server/router.3…

Everything as promised

The router works fine and I have excellent reception anywhere in the house with a laptop. The print server was not working, but that was my printer's (Dell 720) fault, not the server's.

  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • There are some nuances

I love this router: Print Server

This router is very reliable. I haven't had to restart or touch it since installing it a few weeks ago. The web user interface is easy to use. The print server is working properly. We print from a Win2K desktop and two WinXP laptops. I connected an old HP 855CSe with a USB to parallel adapter cable. When setting up a wireless laptop for a printer, don't worry about the wizard. Simply install the Belkin driver, then manually add a new local printer and specify the Belkin driver for the printer…

Acceptable wireless network performance; good usb print server

comment on the router: the wireless router coverage is ok but not great. The WiFi signal appears and disappears even if the distance between the router and the computer is about 100 feet. The router setup software that came with the CD was unable to detect my Internet connection. Since I was somewhat familiar with router configuration (this is my second router), I was able to make some changes to the router configuration to fix the erratic setup process. However, if this is your first router or

Routes are good. Best Networking Products

I have had this router for a few years now and it has served me well. If I disconnect from the network, it's easy to solve this problem.

The router and print server immediately began to work normally.

I ordered this because my old Dell router burned out during a firmware update. I unzipped the Belkin, ran the installer and it recognized my modem settings and worked right away with no further action - connected to the network in 5 minutes. I followed the instructions for the print server and it worked right away. I can't disagree. I haven't had any other issues (and I'll bitch here if and when I do). Its range seems good although I haven't tested it seriously. A word of caution about the…

Hello Belkins. Goodbye and goodbye D-Link

I've been using D-Link routers for at least 5 years. I liked the facility and the customer service. But I think the wireless age has left them behind. Last year my DLINK wireless USB adapter and PCI network card were not working properly and I could not get any satisfactory answers from their service people other than replacing the hardware and the problems continued. My D-Link router with print server was not running well. Print jobs were always loading into the queue and taking even longer to

Great router with great features and range

I bought this router to replace my Linksys G wireless router as it has a built in USB print server. I was pretty happy with Linksys until I bought a Belkin router. Setup was easy compared to Linksys. Most of the necessary settings can be found on the installation CD; However, you must use the router's web utility to set up network security. The manual that came with the router was excellent and explained all the features in detail. The range and signal strength is at least double that of a…
