Just fits well! - Control parts

Tightened and it vibrated heavily. Find out what is best to change everything at once. Tensioner, belt, idler pulley, if necessary Wrong tensioner ordered. Make sure you have a washer with an idler pulley.

Pros
  • Good assembly
Cons
  • For old

Fits 2008 Colorado in Engine Parts

This fits my 2008 Colorado. My Colorado rattled on cold starts. After about 15 seconds it stops. This solved the problem. I hope this tensioner lasts 100,000 years just like the original tensioner, but if I need to go back and update this review when this part is about to fail I will.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Fits perfectly on Trailblazer - OEM Quality

Fits perfectly on our 2008 Atlas Inline 6 Chevy Trailblazer; Works great - made in Canada and appears to be OEM quality and fits the factory original tensioner exactly. Comes pre-installed with a quality pulley but no motor bolt - use your original bolt.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Damaged

Scratches and dents straight out of the box!

I haven't installed this part yet as it required a signature to ship via UPS on Friday and as I had work I couldn't be there. It was then delivered to CVS today, which is Monday. This really annoyed me as the weekend was planned around this setup. In addition, the tensioner already seems to have several scratches. A pretty lame overall experience so far.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Seems like a good solid part.

Just installed an hour ago. Now the belt and tensioner on the Colorado isn't the easiest, that's for sure. It's just so tight in there. But that's not the fault of this detail. The Gates tensioner felt just as heavy and strong as the one I removed. And no, the pulley isn't plastic, at least not the ones I have. It was definitely metal. I'll update if anything notable comes up, but first impressions were good.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Some imperfections

WILL YOU REMOVE THE STRETCH

Gate tension springs are very different from springs from some other brands. They have several videos that explain it. I had an issue with chirping and Gates recommends replacing the tensioner along with a new belt. At first I just put on a new belt and chirped anyway. Received this Gates product and won't tweet anymore. Gates says the springs in the tensioner are rusting, which isn't usually very visible. I assume that as the tensioner ages, the applied tension will gradually ease off…

Pros
  • Looks great
Cons
  • Updates
