Install tips from a licensed plumber

Reading the reviews, there looks to be a correlation between non-professional installations & dissatisfaction with the final product. Install tips:- Hire a *licensed* plumber (accountability, insurance, bond, and warranty)- Don't use the included ¾" crimp pipe/fittings; you will reduce your flow. This filteration system is made for 1", your water supply system is potentially 1", and the install kit bottlenecks it down to ¾" or less (the crimp-style fittings have an effective opening of only ⅝"…

Works Great, but had problem with leaks

Our tap water was chlorinated to the point you could smell it as soon as your nose gets close to the glass with a very strong taste to the point of not wanting to drink it. After installing the 1,000,000 gallon version we have no smell or taste in the water, the water now has the taste of bottled water. Very happy with the filtering performance. The Kit was well put together you will need a PEX ring crimper to install it with the kit.The only problem I had was the inlet and outlet of the mail…

Performance review with testing data

Many reviews talk about the installation and how the user feels the unit performs but do not provide actual testing data to show the difference/verify it actually works.Since the mfg doesn't provide test results either(that I could find), I was concerned/sceptical regarding the softening and smell reducing ability when buying this product as I have very hard and alkiline well water with a strong Hydrogen sulfide smell. To get some form of data I purchased First Alert home one water test and…

Works great, difficult to install.

Great filter. Great taste. Did not lose much water pressure. Not the easiest to install. The two plastic connector pipes connecting the main (center) filter to the pre and post filters kept blowing out when we turned the water on. Our pressure (75 pounds) was well below the max pressure (100 pounds) for the unit, too. Nothing we did made those plastic fittings work. We went to the store and fabricated our own METAL connectors. You may need to do the same. See attached photos.Overall, I would…

Need to improve pre-Filters

We have a ton of iron and sulfur in our well water. I installed this system a year ago. Once received in beaten and battered packaging I was a little skeptical of them. Included plumbing hardware was very short and if you didn’t have both the tanks completely level and extremely close together then the weight of the passing water would cause leakage. Installed new hardware in order to place a larger gap between tanks.Constantly changing pre-filters every two weeks. Wish they offered a larger…

Expensive but it's working

I have some mixed feelings about this system. Mainly with the Salt Free Conditioner. When I was getting ready to install this system I had everything sitting in my garage after flushing and while planning what I was going to need. I noticed that the sunlight shining into the somewhat dark garage was shining through the lower Conditioner tank. It's basically empty. The top small tank contains carbon but nothing in the bigger bottom tank. Aquisana tech support says there are plastic beads down…

Pros
  • ‎14 Gallons Per Minute
Cons
  • Large and bulky system requiring space for installation

Installed a little over a year ago

I am thankful every day that I turn on a faucet and nice clean water comes out. My husband wanted this system, we just moved into an older home that needed work. We had well water and felt like I was coated in sludge every time we took a shower. This system has been worth every dime. Did we have to makes several trips to the hardware store for different pieces, yes because we did not think the whole thing through before we started putting it together. Is that the companies fault, no. Did we…

Pros
  • Easy Maintenance - No draining or back flushing needed - Easily replace pre and post filters every 2 months for best filtration and flow rate.
Cons
  • Doesn't remove fluoride

The system looks nice but I lost half of my water pressure and after six months of use on a brand new remodel all of my water fixtures and the sink and in the shower are covered in hard water stains. I called the representative and told him I had a problem, and I was informed that this system does not get rid of hard water stains. I assumed that a water softener would get rid of hard water stains but according to them that’s not what it means.

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • May not be suitable for well water

Has improved the taste of our water

We live in an area with very hard water, average 240 ppm or 14 grains per gallon. This system with the SimplySoft is rated to work with up to 25 grains per gallon according to Aquasana's information. Our water is also city water which is heavily chlorinated. It has been about 3 weeks since the install and yes it has improved the taste of the water in our whole house. The chlorine smell and taste is completely gone. As for the reducing the effects of hard water only time will tell. We do see…

Does not completely filter your water

After 2 months of dishes drying in the dish rack, you can see this is not doing the job it claims to be doing. Dish rack is covered in dry sediment. One would think that a $1800 system, and thats discounted apparently, which is very hard to get professionally installed (one plumber said "no way, dont install other systems" and the other 2 plumbers quoted over $1000 to install) that this system would do what it claims to do. Filter my well water. And yet, sediment collecting, covering, the…

Works AWESOME! on my review.

Bought a 10 year, whole house filter plus softener and install kit and had a licensed plumber install it to maintain the warranty. Also replaced all the lines in the house with Pex at the same time. I cannot comment on the claims about cleaning pipes, but our tea kettle flaked off lime scale like crazy until it was almost as clean as new, and there is no scaling in the shower after 5 months of use. Cleaning it is a breeze! The installation instructions were rather vague, but not impossible to…
