Costs money. - Pliers

This is the Tekton version of the Big Azz pliers and is of good quality. I got it to remove the metal ring on Nissan fuel tanks which requires a special tool that costs over $100 and I have one of those cars that has one and just a tip for those who have it need to know. I've used it on large copper tubing and other applications with no complaints.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Some bugs

Not recommended

Not recommended to anyone thinking of serious everyday use. They are bolted together and not hot riveted like Channellock pliers. That means I had to tighten them up a lot. They're also a bit bulky. A thin profile would be nice. In the end it's not terrible but I wouldn't recommend it. go somewhere else Buy an analogue from Channellock or Knipex.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Rusty garbage! Best in Pliers

I bought them as a set from Revain in late August 2020. I put them in a lined box in my new tool box. I opened the box in early October and after just a month the tongs started to rust. Not just surface rust. It actually tarnished the metal without removing it. I contacted Tekton customer service and they told me that you have to oil/grease them or they will rust. Who the heck wants to use fat tools for the job? The agent will not agree to a replacement. RUSTY CHARACTER!

Very well done! for pliers

I like the size, these are large pliers but their jaws open wider than other 16" Grove style pliers. I only do house plumbing repairs so I have these sizes of 8", 10" and 12" but none of these would fit my current project so I bought them knowing I'd have the right tool for the job , is an incredible time saver! My Tekton pliers are very well made, run true and stay in the chosen groove, perfect. I would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with large pipes or joints, they won't get you…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Hard to say

Outstanding and Made in the USA

Needed channel locks for my tool box and I wanted some made in the USA. I can work with some tools made in China but I prefer things like US locks or screwdrivers while I still can. They don't come off easily, but they don't stick either, and opening becomes awkward. I've heard that a lifetime warranty is no nonsense (can't even say that about the handyman. Just try twisting the ratchet somehow at Ace Hardware). Good price. I wish it was a size bigger but I can get it separately so no big deal.

  • Sleek design

Perfect for today's police force

Great for getting the truth out of someone. Just take them with your tongue. In moments, your discreet suspect will be spilling the beans and lashing out at his criminal friends. You don't even need a taser. So save money on batteries and do it the old fashioned way. It works day and night, impossible to break, it even works underwater (a nod to the CIA!). While your fellow officers berate the free press for showing up in armored vehicles, body armor and machine guns, you'll go unnoticed with…

Love them all for hand tools

Bought a few to keep in my tool bag at work. I have Channellock 426 6 1/2" and 428 8" for the tool bag I have at home. i love them all Tekton 7" is stronger/heavier than Channellock 6 1/2" and the jaws are wider. Tekton isn't as strong/heavy as Channellock 8" and the grips are narrower. Both Channellocks run smoother than Tekton. If I were to pick one of the three for the job I do most of the time, I'd pick a Channellock 428 8". . If I were to pick one for a smaller job I would pick a…

it was/better IMHO. I struggled to understand the quality control.

Unreal quality! I was just in a nationally known department store that makes its own brand. I have compared the quality between 2 and the Tekton brand, ALSO MADE IN USA, with lifetime warranty, was/was better imo. I was struggling to understand Channel Lock brand quality control in this sizing due to the grooves/binding and lugs mismatching. Poor handling/embossing/etc. But Tekton on the other hand did a great job here as they have done with many other quality items. TEKTON ATTENTION: I would…
