Great gaming monitor

This is an overview of the 27-inch model with a TN panel. Acer makes this very confusing by assigning such a similar model number to an IPS panel. My monitor arrived in a well-packaged box in perfect condition. There are no dead pixels. I've never used an IPS monitor, so I don't know how different they are from each other. It replaced a 22 inch Acer V223W monitor from 7 years ago with a resolution of 1680x1050. The difference is very noticeable. I like the colors. The only thing I noticed is that the black is not a very deep black. Obviously this is a disadvantage of TN panels. 165Hz games look fantastic. I enabled Gsync, disabled Vsnyc and limited the framerate to 165 using MSI Afterburner. I've been playing DOOM at a steady 150-165 fps and this monitor doesn't shake for a second. The stand seems pretty sturdy and the red feet don't bother me as I have a black and red theme for my new computer. The Predator logo doesn't distract me or feel out of place, which other reviewers have complained about. The monitor is easily adjustable up and down on the stand. It rotates and tilts too. The only downside to the basic design is that it's too big to fit on the riser I bought. However, with the ability to adjust the monitor up and down on its own stand, I don't need it. The menus are a little awkward to navigate, like the old Acer monitor I used. It has plenty of settings to fine-tune, but it's pretty confusing to use until you get some practice with the arrow keys. 1440P looks amazing. I was afraid that such a high resolution would "reduce" everything, and I was right. I had to set the scaling to 150% in the windows display properties to be able to see things better. It seems to be working very well. Nothing looks garbled and games still run at the monitor's native resolution. I thought about getting a 32 inch monitor but they just don't have the same features as the 27 inch monitors. Maybe in a year or two we'll be able to buy a 32-inch version of this monitor. 34-inch curved widescreen monitors are a little pricey and the aspect ratio looks a bit odd given how short and wide they are. no stars but I had a huge problem when I first put it up. I connected the displayport cable and power cord and all I got was a no signal message. I called Acer tech support which is supposed to be premium tech support as stated on the fancy card in the box. They had no solution and basically told me my monitor was broken. Find out that the default input has been set to HDMI. I just had to switch to displayport in the menu and it worked. For the price, this monitor should be able to automatically detect the connection you're making and configure it accordingly. Acer tech support gets zero stars!

  • 20.6 pounds
Cons
  • nutritional problems. If the monitor's power supply is not working properly, it may cause the display to flicker or turn off.
