Nice modem but a bit pricey considering it's been refurbished.

The modem is almost ready to use. The tricky part is registering it with your ISP, where I found it easier to do it on their web portal than to ask their helpdesk for help. Otherwise the performance of the modem was very good. So far there have been no connection failures, but within 45 days.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Might damage it

Hardware was broken

I couldn't get it to work and nobody helped me. I work from home so I can't turn off the internet. In the meantime I put the old one back in. I called Optimum and after a long time put the old one back. I ended up calling again, the first time the person couldn't get it to work I hung up and called back. I had a man who seemed to know what she was doing and finally told me it was bad. It's too late to go back now.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works great for networking products

Almost every day I had an outage with a device I rented from my cable/internet provider. Not a single failure since installing this unit.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • Hard to say

You'll need to contact your cable provider

We sent two of these back because we couldn't get them to recognize the phone - then the box ended up not recognizing anything. Then a friend told us to call the cable company and give them the MCAT number on the back of the device. We bought another one from a different supplier and did just that and everything worked fine. The seller could just attach some instructions (there weren't any).

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

It works. Stay safe in these Covid19 times.

The device replaced my rental box. It still works. I've had it connected for over 2 weeks now. Spending that much during the coronavirus was scary, but I hoped the amount I paid for the rent from the cable company would be enough. It should be cheaper due to these unstable times. I'm glad I gave this seller a chance as another seller sold me a fake. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
