I used my spyder 5 pro with cal gauge. + IPS panel at 1080p @ 144Hz. + Contrast looks better than my Acer XB271huCons-1080 @ 27" which is noticeable when compared to 1440p @ 27". This is my experience with Asus VG279Q. First of all I want to clarify that before this monitor I only used TN panels with a resolution of 1080p 60Hz. The connector assembly is too close to the VESA mounting inserts. The display port is literally flush with this panel. VESA mounting plates come in many shapes and sizes, so this might not be an issue for everyone, but if ASUS designed that row of ports just 1cm to the right, it would solve this problem.

No complaints here. Seems to be a very solid construction and works really well. The monitor control is very intuitive and much better than others I've seen. The picture really needed some adjustment. There was a little too much green cast at first, but that was easy enough to fix with a little fiddling with the settings. What I like about this monitor is that it has a solid stand that doesn't take up much desk space.

The monitor keeps what it promises. 1080P won't put you out of the game, but the 144Hz refresh is nice; and the price is nice. Docked a star for promising acoustics which was very disappointing.

Works perfectly, the only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that sometimes weird visual artifacts are visible but barely noticeable. Maybe it's my setup/cable I'm using, so maybe it's not even a monitor bug.
