Description of Dakota Lithium 12V 3 Amp LiFePO4 Battery Charger for 12V - 7Ah, 10Ah, and 23Ah Batteries

MADE FOR LifePO4: Dakota Lithium has optimized this charger for use with our lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4). IMPROVED PERFORMANCE - Dakota Lithium batteries should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger like this one. SLA chargers may reduce the performance and lifespan of the battery. FAST CHARGING - This charger charges at a speed of 3 amps an hour and is optimal for batteries up to 25Ah. ( A 3 amp charger would fully charge a 7 amp hour battery (Ah) in 2.3 hours ). BMS COMMUNICATION – This Charger will restart or "wake up a BMS system that has turned off a battery due to short circuit or excessive amp draw.

Great for heavy batteries

It's been sitting in my garage for a week now and I've used it to charge 3 different brands of lithium batteries. Everything worked great after a full charge.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Great price

It makes it easy. in Tools and Equipment

This little charger for my Dakota Lithium PSU is fine. But whatever you do, don't plug it into an extension cord. It says clearly on the box but I forgot and made it anyway. If you make the mistake of plugging it into an extension cord, you'll know you've made a terrible mistake the moment you see the smoke. I bought my Hurricane system. here in Houston.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • No Power

works great great for tools and gear

I like it but the charger is green when not on battery. It glows red (excellent) when running on battery power and green when swapped out. I look at the camera from a distance and check if it's plugged into the charger. Green, I think it's on the pins, but it's often misaligned and shows green. Difficulty charging. I WISH it wouldn't glow when not on battery and then red/green when on battery.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Nothing here

Slow charging on big battery

I bought this 3 amp charger knowing it would take me a while to charge my 24Ah LiFePO4 battery. But even with 12.6 volts on the battery, it took about 9 hours for the red light on the charger to turn green and the battery to reach 13.4 volts. I use the battery in my kayak so I don't have to fully charge it right away. Overnight charging is fine. The info says it's for batteries up to 23Ah so I push it to charge my 24Ah. They make a larger 10 amp charger but I went with the cheaper one. I just…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Hard to say

Better use something else.

Dakota Lithium Batteries EXCELLENT! your charger? Not as much. If you are investing in a LifePO battery, there are better third-party chargers that work much better. With the Dakota charger I purchased, the instructions state that when charging, the light should not flash while the battery is being charged. Every time I charged the battery, it would quickly blink red and then turn green while charging. Of course it worked, but I didn't have a lot of faith in this product and you have to be…
