Dorman garbage. Should have known

Usually Dorman stuff. Chevrolet K20 76 does not fit on the steering column. Attach to steering gear splines but too large to bolt to column. It looked too big compared to the original.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Reverse print

Dorman' Rag Joint - Steering Clutch

Bought this clutch for my C20 pickup when I was repairing the steering box. The original joint fell apart and the clerks at the local parts stores gave me glares when I asked for a replacement part. However, Dorman still makes the right parts for a 35 year old truck! A year later, the steering is still tight and the play is practically gone — thanks to a rebuilt box and mat combo that did the trick.

Pros
  • Caps
Cons
  • Many Stuff

difficult to find the size so thanks to Dorman for making it.

Hard to find the size, so thanks to manufacturing thanks to Dorman, when installing the clutch on the steering box, both 'rivets' that hold the rubber on one side of the adapter literally fell out of the car out, the old rivets had massive mushroom shaped rivets over their heads, the new ones had almost no excess material so they wouldn't fall out, I removed them and installed some class 8 hardware instead if they didn't fall out they might during use fall apart on me = Missing auto steering…
