I have a VHF antenna with magnetic mount, coax cable and SMA connector that I am using on another radio. My Icom IC-V86 radio has a BNC connector on top so this adapter comes in very handy and allows me to use my existing Icom magnetic antenna.

Fit is good, doesn't wobble like some, but doesn't pass a soldering iron test. A white dielectric melts easily when touched with a soldering iron. PTFE will not do that. These are probably high losses at UHF and higher, I'll mark them and save them for LF use only, maybe test later on a VNA. I need them to run at 1.3GHz. They add to a bag full of nylon HF connectors that don't work well on VHF+.

This product is great for what I use it for; by connecting an external cable to one of the many HT ham radios I connect it to. The goal was not only a fast connection, but also a stronger connection for repeated connection and disconnection, which can take a toll on SMA jacks.

When connecting the BNC side, the SMA side is released. This is not a problem with cables. Keeping the antenna upright is a big problem.
