Product error: Single Board Computer

Unfortunately I only discovered the error when I soldered the microcontroller into my home-made Atreus keyboard. My first test of the microcontroller was downloading the firmware and it turned out to be fine. It took a bit of hardware debugging to determine that pins 5 and 10 were shorted somewhere on the board. I was able to reconfigure the key switch matrix to use two different pins and tweak the firmware generated by QMK to use the other pins. So not a complete loss. I have a working Atreus…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • if in doubt

Was expecting a cheap clone of the Due board and it did to get. Requires pressing the reset button to load the main application on the Cortex M3 processor instead of the bootloader - as recommended in several forum threads, a 10kΩ resistor soldered to the FET on the board solves this problem. This matches the later schematics of the original Arduino board. I'm not sure I recommend this board unless you know how to solder in your application and/or press the reset button.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Some minor issues

Absolutely worthless

This is a completely worthless clone of Sparkfun Pro Micro. On Windows 10, this board was recognized as an Arduino Leonardo (it uses the same MPU), but the Arduino IDE failed to load the sketch. After installing the Sparkfun AVR support package and setting the Arduino IDE to point to Sparkfun Pro Micro, the board was completely locked. I suspect that this board's assembly is faulty or doesn't use the original AT chip (ATmega32U4). Don't waste your money on this and buy an Arduino Leonardo…

I have not used this for Arduino Leonardo related projects.

I haven't used this for Arduino Leonardo related projects, but flashed it with a CP2104 to use as a GIM-X adapter to connect my Logitech G27 peripheral wheel to a Playstation 4 use. In that regard, it worked great. What I liked the most is that this board comes with solderless headers. As for uses outside of my specific use case, this is essentially the Pro Micro version of the Arduino Leonardo. The reason you could use this instead of the ATMEGA328P based Arduino Pro Micro or Uno R3 is that…

Yes, it works with Mac OSX with the right cable.

Initially I had many problems connecting to my Mac running Mojave. I've tried all the instructions here that suggest installing new drivers. Everything turned out to be unnecessary. CABLE was the culprit! After spending a whole day trying to get it to work, I came across a post on the Arduino forums that said some micro USB cables are only connected for charging and no data pins are connected. None of the micro-USB cables I had worked, and I realized that yes, I had all of them because they…

Works fine after bootloader update

Many old reviews say an error when you need to reset the sketch to make the sketch load after power off. I had this problem, but it's easy to fix by flashing an updated bootloader. I bought my 2016 to make a head tracker for Elite Dangerous. It still works fine but I've now repurposed it as a spinner controller in my MAME case. I recently bought 2 more that I plan to use to make button boxes for the DCS. There are bootloaders on the new ones and I didn't have to update them. You may or may not…

What is that? Microcontrollers for ants?

Works great so far. Note that I've done a lot of things with Arduino on my computer before, so I might already have drivers that other people don't have installed. It appeared in the list already identified as Leonardo) Connect the LED to pin 9 and modify the sketch accordingly. Click "Download" and a few seconds later I had a blinking LED. Please note that for some reason the built in red Rx LED keeps blinking even after boot, not sure why. I unplugged it from my computer and plugged it into…

Pros
  • Well built
Cons
  • No

Board works great. I didn't have any problems that I couldn't solve. Switch to my recommendation to use board definition "Leonardo". This avoids all the problems I had, no need to upload a new definition. Only the 5 pens Leonardo has are missing, so just don't use them. Also use macros for the RX and TX LEDs as pin 13 is one of the missing pins, plus an extra (active high) LED. ------------ Original review: ------ ------- However, I only gave 4 stars because of the lack of documentation. This…
