Description of πŸ’§ High-performance A53 Series 1800 GPH Submersible Sump / Utility Pump, Corded, 110 Volt AC

A genuine Rule product, don't settle for anything less. Designed to remove water from basements, garages, stairwells, utility rooms, and other utility applications, compact, efficient, long-life motor. Totally submersible, silent and vibration free operation, rust and corrosion proof, snap-off strainer for easy cleaning. Heavy-duty thermoplastic housing protects pump from the most adverse conditions. Using this pump as a pool cover pump voids the warranty, it should not be used to prevent water from accumulating on top of a pool cover. Never runs dry, turns off automatically when pumping is complete or if impeller becomes jammed.

Ideal when you need high speed with 8ft of lift

I use this pump to keep water running down the basement door from getting into the house. The drain isn't very good so I can get 3 inches of water pretty quickly. This pump checks for water very frequently (about 30 seconds) and if water is present it will go away in less than a minute. Quiet, reliable and fast Great value for money.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Works as advertised.

Works as previously advertised. It used to come with a blue pool head, which is now an extra $24. However, I was able to retrofit it from a previous pump. Pretty ironic that this appeared in the (pool cover pump) section of the website, but the information that came with the pump says it's for 'clean water' only. Every pool owner knows that water in the lid is never clean. Hope this doesn't affect the warranty.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Clarity

great for boats! on Rough Plumbing

I have used a Rule A53 1800 series pump on my boat since 1998. The first pump I bought ran nonstop until I sold my boat in 2003 and probably still does. I have purchased about 5 of these Rule A53 Series 1800 pumps from 2004 to present in wet basement conditions and have found them to last an average of 3 years. Why these terrestrial conditions might be worse than typical marine applications I don't know. In any case, 3 years is normal, I have nothing to sink into.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So far so good
