Pretty good, but not great.

Only works as an "alternative" option to allow the use of older PCI cards. Most software no longer works on Windows 10, sound stacks have changed quite a bit, and Microsoft has revoked old driver signatures. If you manage to get your devices to work and they are old cards that may have once been audiophile quality, you may find that the audio threshold has increased significantly as the PCI-E bridge requires a significantly higher Audio noise (distortion) generated. ; This means if you have…

Not a perfect design, but it does the job.

My employer had an old computer that needed replacing. Five expensive PCI cards were installed in the existing system, which had to be migrated to the new system. Given the choice between building a new custom system with a 5 PCI slot motherboard or using an external case, I decided to go with an external case as it gives more flexibility should we need to move hardware again in the future. In this case I read the instructions and then installed the hardware on a computer running Windows 7…

Doesn't work with I/O port cards

I used this device to host an NI PCI 7330 (x2). It doesn't seem to be working. The cards are intermittent and the software freezes. Even once I got it to communicate with a computer, it didn't communicate with the external devices these cards are connected to. The cards work great when plugged directly into the computer's PCI slot. I am using Windows 7.

  • Long wait

Does what I need Computer components

The circuit board is working fine so far. Your customer support has been fantastic. The box is a little small for me to easily fit one of my cards. The rest is excellent.

Works well enough when you really need it

This product works well enough most of the time when you really need to add a few PCI slots to a modern system, and it works plug and play with modern Linux kernels. Warning, I managed to fry the motherboard by powering on the case while the computer was on - maybe not a very smart move, but since the PCI standard allows hot-plugging I figured it might work. Lesson learned. An important caveat is that while the PCI standard allows up to 5A on the 5V rail, the 5V buck converter in this case only
