My Go-To Magnet Wire

I always buy TEMCo magnet wire when I need it for various ham radio and electrical projects. This is amazing quality and the insulation removes well with heat or sandpaper.

Pros
  • Applications include but are not limited to: Electric Motors for Appliances, Relays, Timer & Clock Coils, Sealed Coils, Crafts.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

This wire was fine. We bought it to build.

This wire was fine. We bought it to build a portable seismometer, and while it served its purpose, it was so flimsy that it broke after only a few uses. After it broke we decided to use some thought wire to reduce the number of turns we had to make on our coil. Switching to a thicker wire was definitely the right decision!

Pros
  • Shape: Solid Round Copper (purity 99.9%). A NOTICE. Both ends of the wire are available.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Quality Wire

Good stuff. light-emitting diodes. This is good quality wire, light but strong, with good conductivity. It has an outer foil covering the wire which needs to be melted with a soldering iron before you can melt the solder and make the connection. Otherwise the wires look bare but can be touched without shorting. Good service from a company with fast delivery. It is made in the USA.

Pros
  • Average Wire Diameter (inches): .0431 (insulated), .0400 (bare)
Cons
  • Some Little Things
