Wonderful, reliable stand-up toy

Wonderful, reliable stand-up toy. Bought as a Christmas present for our grandchildren, we've used it every time we visit since Christmas, it works reliably every time our four-year-old daughter likes to do everything herself, including closing the insert with the lid snaps. Good buy. I'm glad we bought.

Broke shortly after opening

I bought this for my 1 year old as a birthday gift. It arrived two days before his birthday so it stayed in a box in my closet. My son hadn't played with it for over an hour or two when it broke. I heard something click as he turned the crank. Maybe this one just sucked, so let's trade it in for another one!

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons

Avoid this product for baby and toddler toys

A complete piece of junk. It broke and wouldn't open with the handle after about the 3rd or 4th time. Even if it doesn't open when you turn the handle, you can still manually pull the latch and it will open. Unfortunately, even that stopped working after a short time. It is also made from a very thin material and is easy to bend and fold. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

  • Satisfied so far
Cons

cute but only worked for 10 minutes

This is super super cute. Unfortunately it didn't work for long. When turning the handle, it makes a metallic scrape and the hatch opens only occasionally, not every time - yes, I close it properly with the latch and all. In the end it wouldn't matter much, but all musicians would say that the hatch opens on "Goes" and not "Pop". (.there is a song of affection)

  • Great price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Does not last as a child's toy! Took half a day! Don't come out!

I bought this for my daughter with autism because she suddenly seems to love Jack in the Boxes but was very disappointed on the first day. It worked fine for the first few hours, but now it won't open no matter how hard you twist it. If you buy it as a decoration, that's fine, but don't buy it as a child's toy. Needless to say, my autistic daughter was very upset and disappointed. She was so happy when she got it but later that day it stopped working!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Something different

LO loves it, the melody's timing is a bit off

Overall 4 stars. I'm dropping one because the phrase "Pop goes Weasel" isn't the same as actual "Pop", so that's pretty disappointing. Luckily, Kiddo doesn't notice and prefers to press the little tab that opens the lid rather than twisting the handle on the side. Find out, LO will find a workaround. (Future engineer?) Durability - The walls seem to be a bit thinner so I'm not sure how they will hold up in the long run. And the Hungry Caterpillar's feather is a little wobbly. I definitely…

But well done. the best of musical toys

I ordered this for my 11 month old who likes to be surprised. I thought he would like a Jack in a Box but I refused to order a creepy clown in a box. I chose this one because who doesn't love a very hungry caterpillar? Apparently, seeing this thing pop out, my son immediately climbed onto the nearest parent, crying, to escape a very hungry caterpillar. That surprised me because I didn't find anything else that would scare him today. Anyway, this Jack in the Box is very well built and plays the…

Wish it worked more consistently

I really wish it worked more consistently, good or bad. I only had it briefly and it scores as being a very cute thing, it got fussy after a month. Pros: - cute - good finish - track material is decent. Cons: - After a month, the latch sometimes pops. I can go through up to 4 or 5 cycles without it popping until I manually unlock and restart the worm. I don't know if the position of the worm has anything to do with it. Tends to lean forward, which can lead to more locking errors. I'm usually…
