Review on Enhance Your Vehicle's Performance with the GM Genuine Parts 213-4337 Mass Airflow Sensor by Tim Surridge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit and functionality for my 2004 Impala.

Buy this part. Does your car have P-0171 errors or something related to emissions? Bad MPG? Did you trace the problem to the mass air flow sensor? This part from AC Delco will fix that. Buy the original if you can. I had problems with my MAF a few years ago - car wouldn't start, stalled - I foolishly replaced the fuel pump and filter before correctly diagnosing the MAF as a problem. I then bought a non-OEM replacement from an online parts store. Big mistake. The first sensor worked for about two months and then died just like the original part (8 years old). I replaced it with another one that worked for about 6 months before it failed again causing emission errors and low MPG. The third replacement eventually worked but continued to throw emission errors and gave me a low MPG. My car (a 2004 Impala) ended up having to pass an emissions test, so I know I had to settle this once and for all. Several mechanics have assured that buying an AC Delco part (which is such a delicate electronic component) will solve this problem. You were right. I had my reservations at first as Elwood (my Impala) wanted to report more P-0171 errors to me after installing and cleaning my ECU (via OBD/Android bluetooth adapter). I immediately took it to my mechanic who found no other leaks or vacuum failures. After checking, it turned out that the error was finally reset! SUCCESS. I will come back to this review later when its status changes. It's an easy do-it-yourself installation, just buy a set of torx security bits and you're done. Elwood feels like a brand new Impala again! Great pickup, no hesitation, no jerky idle when starting and no check engine light!
