I love the sturdy eye box it comes in. Tired of your regular eye compresses not staying hot after a few uses? This mask provides constant warmth for as long as you need it. You can see that most other popular compresses start to heat up within 20 minutes of being microwaved, but gradually lose that time. Also, you should wash them two hours after use and let them dry for 24 hours. So I bought 3 for $20 each. With all the running back and forth to warm up and stay sane, it took a long time. I…

Absolute rubbish. Whenever it gets warm, buy a real microwave compress

Last year I used warm eye compresses that can be used in the microwave to control dry eyes. It's very calming and one of the few things that actually helps my condition. The problem is that you have to warm them up for 30 seconds to activate the heat. I saw this USB powered version and based on other people's opinions I would give it a try. It would be great to be able to use a warm compress in the car, hooked up to my bed etc. Thing barely gets warm and takes a good 5 minutes to get to that…

Cozy. Not very hot.

My optometrist prescribed wet hot compresses twice a day for blepharitis and meibomitis. I used to use a washcloth and warm tap water, but it's pretty dirty, the washcloth cools down too quickly, and hunching over the sink gives me back pain, so I've tried that. It's insanely soft and comfortable. An elastic band keeps it in place. It is filled with flaxseed, so there are no heating elements going through the mask itself, which can pose a burn hazard. Heat is naturally transferred to the seeds…

Pros
  • The heating element touches and heats the eyelids and cleans the glands directly.
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Good for traveling

At home I use an eye mask that can be used in the microwave. I bought the aroma eye mask to use when traveling and it serves that purpose well. The USB charger is very convenient and I love that the face stays hot for up to twenty minutes. A minor complaint is that the part of the mask that covers the bridge of the nose gets uncomfortably hot as there is little padding in that part of the mask. I ended up putting a small pillow on the bridge of my nose so I could wear the mask for more than a…

Pros
  • It is designed to adjust the heating temperature of 3 classes from 104℉ to 140℉, and will stop working automatically when the time is up.
Cons

The best I've found. in Eyes

I am an ophthalmologist and also one of the most severe dry eye sufferers. This is by far the best way I've found to warm up the meibomian glands at home (google meibomian glands and click on the images). The goal is to heat the Meibomian glands so the oils can flow better. I use the heat mask 20 minutes before bed and also right after waking up. It takes about 8 minutes for the unit to fully warm up, so I turn on early to get it ready at night. After putting the mask on, I take my pinky finger
