Useful tool for removing RTV sealed oil pans.

Glad I found it. I don't think I would have been able to remove the oil pan on my Toyota truck without them. The handle is very small and elongated.

Pros
  • Wide, tapered, rounded blade edges between metal surfaces for breaking engine, transmission pump gaskets or difficult-to-break gasket joints.
Cons
  • Bad Instructions

Works best in tool kits

ok. 5 Stars. But it didn't come with an Allen key. There are also cases where the screws holding the blade increase the thickness of the hammer body when the body encounters a protruding knife blade. An example is the upper oil pan and engine block of a Nissan VQ35DE.

Pros
  • Oil Pan Remover
Cons
  • Doubtful

Great product - tools and equipment

Didn't work in my application removing the oil pan on a Subaru Forester as there was enough room to tap on it to move it. Luckily for me, gently prying open the old-fashioned way and removing the pot was enough for me. No total loss. It should be great where there is more space or when the engine or transmission is removed from the car.

Pros
  • Weight 180g
Cons
  • Everything OK

Not for tools and equipment

I spent an hour trying to get this thing to work. It's poorly built, flimsy material. The blade flexed and continued to unscrew from the tool itself. The handle has a friction fit that won't stay in place once you start hammering, making it almost impossible to guide the tool. It's much better to buy a $2 5-in-1 scraper at your local discount store. It will get the job done faster, with less frustration and less damage to the aluminum cylinder block.

Pros
  • Engine Transmission Oil Pan Separator Replacement
Cons
  • Repair
