Inaccurate probe. - Temperature and humidity

The probe didn't measure accurately, was wildly over the scale, when I told the supplier they didn't even bother to contact me for a replacement.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Was damaged

Inaccurate: test, measure and verify

This sensor was extremely inaccurate. I used it in a pressure cooker connected via a PID controller. Temperature readings were everywhere. I have used other sensors for the same setup. The rest of the sensors worked great. Other probes were sold out and I needed a longer one, so I tried this one. This sensor kept changing within a 4 degree difference and could not allow the PID controller to keep the temperature exactly in the desired range.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some errors

Accurate at high temperatures

This thermocouple was used with an old Fluke thermometer to measure the temperature of molten bronze during casting. Installed it on a steel tube as a handle; tested it by dipping it in a crucible when the copper charge was about half melted; The observed temperature was 1981 degrees Fahrenheit, about two degrees below the textbook melting point of copper. Very good results for the price. The only problem was that after a few seconds the spring on the cable started to melt and the bare part of…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
