I bought this item along with Tandy Leather Factory Mini Leather Punch 3003-00 so I could have a better selection of hole sizes for my leather projects. Compared to the Tandy Leather Factory set, this set is easier to use, but only because I don't have to change heads with this set. The perforated part is a bit difficult to remove, but like the Tandy set, it will come out eventually. Which one would I choose if I bought it again? I think I would stick with both as it gives me the best variety.

These punches are very well made from quality tool steel, perfectly finished, with pointed tips. Each punch is marked with its diameter in millimeters. Judging by the discoloration of the tips, I concluded that the steel was heat treated after it was formed, which made it even harder. I used to use a lot of punches, mainly to punch new holes for belts. The poorest of them have a rotating wheel with stamps of different sizes. Everyone suffers from not making a clean cut, requiring extreme force to push the piercer through skin, and loading the piercer with partially cut pieces of leather. Another complaint from many punches I've tried is that they dull quickly and don't have the means to sharpen them. after 10-20 uses of the same perforator on thick skin was no longer a need.
