The heater broke after 2 weeks.

The heater only lasts about 2 weeks. Today I noticed that the light was flickering and smelled of burning. I set it down and pulled it out of the pan, but found the glass was broken and the inside was burned. This heater went straight out of the box onto the bottom of my pan so it was never plugged in without water. I've never had a problem with cobalt products and I hope it's just a bad heater. Included are photos of the broken heater and the return pan area where the heater was positioned off

The heater blew up, the company blames me, don't waste your money!

I bought this heater in March and within ONE WEEK I heard a HUGE explosion! The heater literally exploded like a bomb! It smelled like fire and luckily I was home, otherwise the house would almost certainly have burned down! I contacted Cobablt (manufacturer) and they told me it was "consumer error" because I had a water/air interface when using the heater. The heater was FULLY SUBMERGED the whole time, there was no FAULT on my part! I have two more of the same heaters and they are all SO used!

Pros
  • Fish and Aquatic Animals
Cons
  • Something else

Aquarium heater and cooler failed twice

This heater failed twice. Once after 90 days, and then the exchange failed after six months. Not a very good experience. I had to send it back to the manufacturer for a replacement at my expense ($12 or $13 each time). Also both times I had to call Cobalt and track the return as it was not replaced in time. The production time was about three weeks before I received a replacement. In the meantime I had to buy a heater locally or all my fish would have died. For the second replacement, they sent
