Solder requires more heat to melt than the heat shrink tubing can handle.

I've used similar connectors before and really liked them. However, it takes a tremendous amount of heat to soak up the solder and this usually means burning the heat shrink tubing and causing the solder to ooze out. The solder band is also very small and doesn't completely fill the wire when stunned. The holes on either end of the connector were not compatible, so some wires with thicker jackets did not always fit the end of the connector. one side of the heat shrink tubing was smaller in…

You need to use the right temperature - 280 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

These are fantastic little connectors. The heat activates the shrink tubing, the sealant on each end, and after a while it will melt the solder. You need at least 280 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a desoldering tool because the small fan I use for shrinking isn't hot enough. I also have a reducing nozzle on the desoldering tool to concentrate the flow of hot air. It takes about 15 seconds for the solder to melt completely. Once connected, you're good to go. It is durable and waterproof. I also took

game changer! on Butt

Every now and then a new breakthrough product comes along. Just the thing for the world of wired connections! This makes a strong connection so strong that you cannot break it (I literally tried). I liked them so much that I needed flat plugs to connect my boat, which are not yet available in this form. I cut off one side between the solder ring and the glue ring. Then I disassembled the regular blade connector and only removed the inner blade/metal crimp section. I crimped it and then slid the

Easy to use and solders perfectly

I use them for other purposes - instead of connecting two wires I use them to connect a wire neatly to a pin on a circuit board in my solder stereo. My first 3 attempts went very well and then I had problems with the 4th - the solder did not stick to the pin. I unplugged the wire, tinned the contact with regular electro solder, then tried a new connector and it worked great. (I cut about 1/4 of the solder off one side of the connector to allow the pin to fit in the soldering area.) Now I know I
