Beautiful dark black but sharpening requires the sharpest blade and lightest touch

These are the darkest black knives I have ever used and they run like butter. I have changed my original review after my husband showed me the very sharp box cutter trick. They can be sharpened, you just have to be very careful, put some pressure on the tip and use the sharpest blade you have.

Nice Dark Black

Bought this pen on recommendation from other pastel artists who said it was one of the blackest black pens. You were right!

Good dark black, but the lead is too soft.

I ordered 3 Cretacolor Artist Pencil Black Chalks and each one was broken when it arrived. When I tried to sharpen it with different pencil sharpeners, the lead kept breaking until I had 3 pencil cores! I don't think they were packaged very well and may have been damaged in transit but I was very disappointed in these pens.

Won't keep the point!

I bought this EXPENSIVE pencil to draw contours that wash off with water. It came with a broken tip so I had to sharpen it. I couldn't get a decent result using a small hand sharpener and alternatively an electric sharpener. Every time you sharpen this pencil the point breaks and you grind a significant amount of money so I can assure you that I have been very careful. I would not buy this pen again.
