Very happy with drivetrain and transmission

Just what I needed to completely fix the leaking axle seals and wheel bearings on my mother's jeep. The 14 year old original came out easily.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some small things

a bad boon for the bridge

We installed 2 sets. One of them was poorly machined and the ring moved after installation as the brakes overheated, damaging the disc. We had to restart everything and we had to solder the ring that holds the bearing. I thought Crown made quality products. I have to look at another kit because I'm afraid that one day I'll run into the same problem that will cost a lot. Very disappointed!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some flaws

No more screeching!

Perfect for my Jeep! I didn't have the problem of loosening the 4 corner screws during installation like some other reviewers have. My installation went without any problems. I'm very glad that annoying rattling is gone! I am very happy with this purchase. So far I've driven my jeep about 2000 miles since installing it. I recommend. By doing this job myself I saved over $400 in labor costs for a few hours of relatively easy work at an electric press shop.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Functionality

The rivets ripped off during installation, not worth the risk.

I'm not sure if I received a particularly bad pair of sets, but both sets had the bearing retaining pins snapping off during installation. This is a great pain, since the correction requires a complete redo of the work. Both sets failed between 35 and 40 ft lbs (spec 45). In the worst case, this is up to 20% less than the required torque. Looks like the bolt heat treatment was done incorrectly. Too bad it has the makings of a great set but I wouldn't buy it again, too much of a risk.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly creased

After a long search, the best offer for ALL the parts you need!

After a long search this was the best deal for ALL the parts needed! Even my mechanic who installed them couldn't believe I paid for the FULL SET! Searching local auto repair shops found that 2 or MAYBE 3 pieces from this kit are sold separately. Revane justified me again! One order at a super price and now everything is NEW! Warmly recommend this product! By the way. it was much better when I left the store and the noise in the rear of my 2000 Grand Cherokee (WJ) was GONE! Everyone was afraidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Prepare your Dremel grinder for screws that turn

The locking clip will break your heart. Once you try to tighten the nuts on the bracket, the bolts spin and you CANNOT hold the head of the bolt and try to tighten it. Impossible. So count on grinding off at least 2 nuts and replacing the bolts with new class 8 hardware. A big pain in the neck and a waste of time. This is the fourth set of crown shaft bearings this has happened to. Some mention tacking the screw head to the bracket. It seems that was something to think about when this thing was

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

VERY uncomfortable to clamp! Manufacturer error

I bought these for my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited to replace the existing ones on my axle shafts. I took this to a professional shop for installation as I don't have a shop press. As a result, we paid an hour's labor at $115 an hour for their installation. When I got back to my Jeep to install them, I found that the screw caps in the metal bracket just turned in the bracket. It's almost like welding on them just isn't strong enough or something. Unfortunately, the top of the bolt cap isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors

  • Unreliable
