Good choice for a live sound engineer

Bought to calibrate my SMAART measurement microphones. He does what he has to do! Good price (compared to many other options)

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I'll be silent

First class calibrator EXCELLENT!

for $109, this calibrator is a steal! This is a top class 1! calibrator, its accuracy is up to 0.3dB. it is scientific equipment. It can measure 1/2" and 1" SLM microphones.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Basically works as described above. Except .

Works as far as it is described for the most part. Except that if you press date/time and then power as the instructions say, the date/time setting mode doesn't work. Instead, it is simply disabled.

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • A few little things

Sound Level Calibrator ND-9

I use a sound level meter for calibration. Not sure how I feel about the internals of the battery compartment and switch yet, they seem odd. The price is decent; I compared different meter readings and the calibrator was accurate within the stated specifications of the device. Time on this calibrator will tell for sure! Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Calibrated to reproduce 94 dB at sea level.
Cons
  • Other Other

A truly professional instrument

Once a famous band sound engineer, acoustic engineer, international consulting engineer, I recommend this calibrator which I personally bought/tested. Why do you need a calibrator? 1. How to trust the readings over time. 2. Thus, the results are reflected in the reports for legal entities. 3. I hereby confirm that I have not received any compensation for this review.

Pros
  • This sound level meter gives clear and simple readings
Cons
  • Can't remember

But looked promising.

Sorry, there was a problem with the units. I have 2 of these and both are having problems. I've found that they differ by 10dB (relative to each other). *Tested in a quiet room, sitting side by side - see photo. I even swapped them around, but hey - there is NO 10dB difference at 3". Digital readings vary (sensitivity) but differ by 10dB all the time. With only 2 sound pressure meters, how do I know which one is the right one? when trying to troubleshoot problems. They were attentive and…

Pros
  • Fits ½" and 1" microphones (including ½" adapter)
Cons
  • A newer model could have been selected
