COMPATIBLE WITH 1997 7.3L FORD: This adapter is compatible with the 1997 7.3L Ford fan clutch ONLY. The 6.0 powerstroke fan will bolt to the 1997 for fan clutch. Required for 6.0L Stroke

If you have a 6.0L Stroke and pull a lot, you MUST install a manual fan clutch. This keeps your rig very cool under heavy loads. No additional noise and no noticeable change in fuel consumption. I tow about 16,000 pounds, and in the Southern California summer heat I've never had an engine temp above 216 degrees. The engine, transmission and oil stay significantly cooler, which means a longer service life. Be sure to upgrade the blue spring fuel regulator for lower exhaust emissions at heavyโ€ฆ

Not suitable: Spare part

I don't know if I got a bad one, but it didn't fit. He won't be tied to the end. Was between this and the BPD and chose this one as it was a few bucks cheaper. Sometimes you have to pay a few euros more for quality. A BPD has a right-hand thread and fits as described. Since there are free returns I'd say buy one and try it, but if you're just going to order once and know it will fit, get a BPD. I had an open motor and didn't wait for another to be mailed to me only to find out it didn't fitโ€ฆ

Hex size different from OEM

While waiting to replace the water pump on my 06' 6.0 I grabbed a set of Gearwrench fan clutch wrenches. I hardly needed it to remove the clutch, but when I put the new mechanical clutch back on and tried to tighten it, the wrench was too loose to tighten. How stupid is that? They did their best to process the custom adapter but didn't keep the OD hex size the same as the OEM. I was able to tighten it with a pipe wrench but I was disappointed with the design of this product. Disabling the fanโ€ฆ
