Inverted Prism in Science Class

Not what I expected but fun, useful and good quality. Prisms bend light indoors, they bend incoming light, so you have to be close (your eye or camera lens) to see the effect of diffraction. I recommend using a filter effect on the camera effect instead of keeping it in the eyes because the spectral output has clean frequencies that can damage the eyes (probably not, why by accident?). Fun and great quality for a slide style but as another reviewer mentioned there is a bit of dust. Dust is not…

Pros
  • This is Amazing
Cons
  • Some Errors

I teach science and this is a great way to introduce diffraction and double and multiple slit experiments. If you also buy flashlights that can emit both laser and white light, you can demonstrate the multi-slit effect with the laser, as well as a beautiful rainbow that will catch the attention of younger students. If you have lasers of different colors you can show that the angle of diffraction depends on the wavelength, which in turn explains the rainbow. Provides excellent learning material.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

1000 lines is better than 500 lines

I compared 1000 lines with 500 lines and I have to say that 1000 lines can definitely show more details in the spectra. They are great for introductory discussions about spectroscopy in astronomy classes; what do i use them for What the student can expect after an explanation of what to look for is a series of spectral rainbows with absorption or emission lines. The lines change position depending on the elements and energy levels. Yes, that sounds very elementary. But for the inexperienced…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
