Not working as it should

So I bought three of these and only one of the three works, I bought the last one after 3 weeks, it cracked in the middle and time out said it was over 100 degrees i couldn't even hold it in my hands for a second if that says how hot it was the heating stones i bought only i will use an external temperature device to regulate the heat

Cool thing about that too

Got this for my box turtle. She loves it. It's so cute to see her with her legs apart. just suck it all up. haha! The cool thing about it (which may be the same for all heat stones, I don't know) is that it reaches a certain temperature and then turns itself off. On the side of the rock where the cable is there is a small red light (the light is under the skin of the rock so you can't see it unless it's on) that will show you when the rock is on and heating up. Pretty cool.

My Christy loves it!

We have a Crested Geko and we used to worry about it more and more during the winter months - as it gets cold in our house at night. We've had it for a few months now and it works great. It doesn't overheat or add significant heat to their living space (we have an internal thermometer). This is a large size. It takes up less than 1/4 of the terrarium (12 x 12 x 18). She still has plenty of room to hide when she wants to cool off or drain. Sometimes we catch her hanging around. Even crickets…

Has worked very well for several months

I bought this product for my leopard gecko and it has worked great for him. It would shut itself off automatically if it got too hot, and it almost never got hot anywhere else in the tank. However, after a few months, it shut down much quicker than before, and the stone wasn't even warm. Now it won't heat up several degrees above room temperature without an auto shut off. I'm not saying this is a bad product. In fact, this is possibly the safest heating stone available, but I don't recommend…

Reliable, durable and safe, WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I've had this big turtle for seven years now; she loves him and so do I. It was strong, reliable and most importantly, SAFE for her. The thermostat knob keeps it warm but never too hot - I check it regularly of course but it hasn't failed yet. Given that Sol's stone has lasted a long time and the beatings she's dealt it (including the occasional 'flushing' with her bowl of water - who knows what's on Boxy's mind?), it owes us nothing if it breaks tomorrow. The little one is perfect for my young

Best stone on the market

I recommend this product if you frequently check its temperature and know the temperature controller can fail and you do not place it directly under a heat lamp. This product lasted 3 years before the temperature control failed and the stone switched to permanent full heating. It might have lasted longer if I hadn't had it on 24/7. I will buy it again and put it on a timer so it turns off at night (it stays 70 in the tank when everything is off). I have been breeding bearded dragons for 11…
