I think they work: Storage

Not sure how it compares to other brands, although aorus is not known for making SSDs, didn't decide to try them, and i think they haven't lost data or anything like that. and they have a copper sticker for heat dissipation.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Plugged it into my computer as the only drive, installed Windows 10, no drivers or fuss. Like any regular IDE or solid state drive, it was recognized as soon as I turned it on. The Gigabyte Aorus Elite motherboard features an m.2 heatsink that is included in the box and is perfect for the Gigabyte. Don't forget to remove the blue tape.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Expensive

Good performance and style

Great ride! Just make sure you have a motherboard heatsink to put this drive under. If not, you can buy a drive with a heatsink. I first installed it without a heatsink in the bottom slot and the idle temperature was 48C, under load it jumped to 60C. The motherboard heatsink dropped the temperature to 32C idle and 40C under load, a huge difference. Your exact prices may vary slightly, but you get the idea.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Old fashioned

Great little disc best in the Computers and Accessories category

I ordered this drive and case as an external drive for my Ps4 and I am very happy with it. My GTA 5 load time was halved along with other games. Super fast and extremely portable. My only complaint is that I didn't get a size up and that's only because they're a bit more expensive, but that's to be expected given they're new to the market. Will definitely pick up another one in TB once the prices go down a bit. In the meantime, I'm enjoying GTA 5's 46 second download from the start.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

The drive failed after 5 months

Works great until it stops working. I accidentally went back to my computer's BIOS screen yesterday and thought nothing of it. Today I couldn't boot Windows and found that the drive is completely unrecognizable in the BIOS. Tried to switch m.2 slots, nothing. Tried on another computer, nothing. Complete hardware failure in less than half a year and the only thing Gigabyte told me was to reset it. Don't buy this drive if you expect it to work, let alone store important documents and programs on…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Complete failure in just four months

I wish I had seen the reviews warning of the insane number of drive failures in less than a year but unfortunately I bought the drive before the problem became known. I've seen reviews from at least four others whose drives failed 4-7 months after purchase. For a month or two it would intermittently crash and boot into the BIOS, it took a power cycle to get back into Windows. I bought a 1TB temporary SSD yesterday to copy my files, but it chose to completely die during cloning! So now I have to

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Could have gone with a newer model

Will die in 2 months

** After initiating an RMA with Gigabyte support, I was approved and sent the unit back. Apparently their servers were attacked by a cyber attack and lost ALL the information that I am returning the hard drive. They say they can't help me anymore. Revan refuses to help. My drive is gone, my money is gone. DO NOT BUY THIS DISC OR MAKE IT WITH GIGABYTE. You will lose your money. Original **After 2 months of great and fast performance, I found my computer in BIOS screen. It could not recognize the

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • The list will be long. UPDATE
