Best replacement for the original

I love the length of the foot and the integrated roll bar on this collar. Makes it easier to hold in hands and also features an integrated strap loop on the forefoot. Very sturdy and mainly used on my monopod gimbal mount where the longer leg helps balance the Nikon 200-500 lens when zoomed out to 500mm.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not bad

Secure fit and value for money

Requires an Arca Swiss friendly design base to avoid adding extra plates to tripod rings. All requirements were thus fully met. The fit in my RRS, Induro and Promaster heads is solid. Stops are welcome to prevent the lens from slipping off the end of the mounting plate. The My Black Rapid attachment screws onto the top of the barrel when the lens is mounted on a tripod or monopod.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Fairly good

Good but not the best in the Camera & Photo category

The lens is certainly cheaper than the Kirk replacement collar, but the lens doesn't rotate as smoothly as my 80-400 Kirk replacement collar. You can't see anything, but it looks like Haoge's collar is metal on metal, not nylon on the metal of Kirk's collar. I've also found that I have to completely unscrew the Haoge collar to take it off or on, whereas with the Kirk collar on my 80-400 I just have to unscrew the collar and align the lugs and grooves.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Empty

Better than the original from Nikon

Let's be clear that this isn't as well made as the RRS or Kirk versions. However, it is better than the one that came from Nikon and came with the lens when you bought it. This Haoge collar is well made, holds the lens better than the Nikon version and can (with some adjustment) use 2 screws to attach a leg or something to the lens leg. I'd like to see smooth material on the collar grip surface, but you can't get everything for this price.

Pros
  • hands-free mode
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Excellent quality

I got this collar for a very heavy Nikon 200-500mm lens. The collar and base that comes with the lens only has one screw for the QR plate, and since the lens is very heavy, the QR plate slipped every time I mounted it on a tripod (ball or gimbal). The Haoge collar was easy to attach and fit well. It looks and feels strong. As others have pointed out, it doesn't rotate as smoothly as the Nikon collar. I'm guessing the $200-$300 collars from RRS or Kirk are more stylish, but they're also fourโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Neck Strap for Haoge Lens

This is good value for money, especially considering Nikon does not use Arca legs on any of their lenses. Famous brand collars cost $225, so why not try this $65 Chinese brand? Design-wise, it's well done. It is durable, the handle is strong, and the leg is reliable. It attaches easily to the lens and works flawlessly, although I found I had to loosen the knob a little more than I did on the Nikon factory collar. This collar didn't rotate as smoothly as the Nikon collar. It didn't scratch theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Well done, great price.

If you search here you already know that Nikon does not sell a replacement collar for the 200-500. When the knurled knob on the adjustment screw on my collar broke, I had to find a replacement quickly. This collar did its job perfectly. It is durable, fits well and is easy to place. It stayed tight and didn't need to be adjusted. a minus. If you want to quickly switch from landscape to portrait by untying the collar and rotating the camera, you can pay Really Right Stuff extra 200-500 for theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
